Sunday Nov 30 @ 388 - 3am In The Valley, Trouble Karma Flow, One Year Later


Really, really quick one today - writing this before heading into work, won't have time tonight because I'll be drinking it up at 388 celebrating the year that was 2008. Hope to see plenty of you there!




Tonight we kicked off with 3am In The Valley - a couple of young mc's mixing it up, who used to work with Joel Turner. Definitely something different for us - the crew didn't seem too sure of how to take it at first, in terms of it not being a rock band onstage - but the boys have a quality act and they carry themselves well, which won the day for them. Some groovy tunes, the set goes on a bit of a journey with ebbs and flows, well produced sounds. Good response overall from the crowd, the show will thrive in the right environment - ie a more hip hop oriented room rather than the rock culture we've developed @ 388. Groovy stuff :)

I totally want to be able to put Rise Up as the song on my page darnit... Had a bit of a sound engineering nightmare in terms of all the instrument swaps (for the first time ever I accepted a drink off a band for the mixing job - much appreciated!!) but it was totally worth it, great sounding act - first gig with the new line up... hard to believe really... looking forward to the next one!!
