Fat Jackson is a good ol' southern jam band. They have all the improvisational style you could want, with an aftertaste that smacks of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band, yet with a highly defined sense of Fat Jackson-ness. The band hails from Americus, and the small town geography only lends to the simplicity and sweetness found in their intimate lyrics and comforting guitar work. Drawing from such influences as the Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead, Southern Rock & Blues and even a little Bluegrass, Fat Jackson is that rare instance of a group of individuals who can make music an unforgettable experience.
From the small town of Americus, the group brings a sound that you would not expect from the rural farm lands of Southwest Georgia. Performing originals and paying homage to the influences of their lives with deep track cover tunes, Fat Jackson is steadily working to climb the rungs of the regional music scene.
