Bio

FatKingBulla is a byword for rhythm, vitality, and emotional roller-coasting ignited
by the unique talent of two gifted, cross cultural-cultural artists: Martino Succetti
and Antonio ‘Bulla’ Leiva.

The duo has released two praised albums of original songs and performs live on a
regular basis. For the last six years, FatKingBulla has developed a signature fresh
and innovative style rooted in Latin rock. Spanish- and non-Spanish speaking
audiences alike have praise the band and swoon over its vibrancy, spirited
essence, and amazing live shows.

In the early 00’s, singer-songwriter Leiva decided to form a band that pulled from
his main inspirations: Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Santana, among others.
Leiva has a distinctive voice that breathes passion, originality and sexuality into
his lyrics. There is little doubt he is lead singer material. Next Leiva recruited the
percussion components of the band, to ensure the Latin vibe that runs through
him also runs through his group. In 2006 renowned guitar player Martino Succetti
joined the project and the rest is history. Succetti and Leiva proved to be a
match, and the duo compose strong songs that pull from their varied influences
and to create catchy appealing tunes.

The band's early rehearsals took place in North Miami home where neighbors
regularly called police to complain about the loud noise. One of them once
shouted out in Spanish, “Baja esa fucking bulla!” which translated into English
means "Turn down that fucking noise!". Leiva liked that the term was pronounced
"fat king booya" and christened the fledgling group with its unique moniker.

FatKingBulla soon played many of South Florida's most popular bars and earned
a reputation for solid, well-executed shows based in rock roots. The group's fan
base began to increase with every performance.

In 2007, the band released its debut album, a self-titled release produced by
Latin Grammy nominated record producer Francisco Murias. León Zervos
(Aerosmith, Santana, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias and
Whitney Houston, among others) was in charge of the sound engineering and
master recording. The danceable single hit, “Niña infiel” (‘Cheating Girl’) turned

into a #1 hit thanks to is proficient fusion of such styles as Funk, Reggae and Latin
music.

After countless live shows across South America—including such countries as
Colombia, Ecuador and Peru—and a short yet productive hiatus to work on the
follow up to their debut disc, the act released El Boulevard de los Dioses in 2013.
The album featured 8 original tracks, including an acoustic song, a dance-music
inspired track and a remarkable cover of “Cancion Animal,” one of the major
hits of the seminal Latin rock band Soda Stereo.

El Boulevard de los Dioses captures the essence of two multi-cultural artists who
travel the world immersing in diverse music styles like Cumbia, Classic Rock, Punk,
Rhythm & Blues, Peruvian Bandurria, Jazz and even Puerto Rican Bomba. The
band’s lyrical component has been heavily influenced by their social and
personal lives, and talk of love as a social experience and not only an
exceptional phenomenon.

The single “Rompe Corazon” from El Boulevard de los Dioses fuses Classic Rock
and Peruvian Waltz. It has already landed on the radio charts in Peru, Ecuador,
Argentina, the US and Puerto Rico. The tune was co-written with Alexis Grullón,
former member of the legendary groups Menudo and MDO.

El Boulevard de los Dioses has been produced by Succetti, Leiva, Francisco
Murias and Tony Mardini, who has collaborated with Emilio Estefan (producer of
Ricky Martin, Jennifer López, Marc Anthony, Shakira and Mary J. Blige, among
others). Band members Ángel Mercado (Drums), JP Gasca (Bass) and Matto
Espinoza (Percussion) also took part in the production process.

FatKingBulla has been a spiritual and unconstrained project since the recording
of their first song, and that same vital energy transcended into the act’s vibrant
live shows. FatKingBulla continues to prove that it is one of the most innovative,
intense and original Latin rock acts in the US today.
