Bio
The Fat Stack players' musical backgrounds range form the NYC jazz scene, the Budweiser-sponsored flat-bed pick-up stages of the Midwest, the swampy hodowns of Appalachia, the high-school honors bands of Northern California and the hot jams of San Francisco's Mission District. The collaboration is an explosion of driving rhythms compliments of the corn-fed drummer who makes his instrument sound like an exquisite Southern dish, tasty low-end licks from a band teacher by day/super samba-funk-jazz bassman by night, shamelessly syncopated guitar riffs from a man whose heart only beats on 2 and 4, booty-shaking keys under the magic fingers of a mysterious guy we don't know who shows up for rehearsals, hot and harmonious vocals raised on the sounds of the 70s and the slamminest horns to blow since the last Bay Bridge multi-car pile-up.
The Fat Stack players are all over the San Francisco music scene with the likes of Idiot Box, Nobody From Ipanema, Richard Bitch, Simon Stinger, Brown Baggin', Jimmy Two-Times, The Hoffa Complex, The Johnson-Cox Quartet, and random pick-up gigs at Cafes and watering holes all over San Francisco.
