Bio

Fat Trel is Washington D.C.’s next best rapper to grab the music industry’s attention. His sound
is so street, so thug, and too raw. His gritty lyrics are honest, and he successfully delivers gritty,
pulverizing flows with no remorse and with no apologies. Many have declared him as, “D.C.’s
Gucci Mane,” because of his ability to combine street realities with humor and entertainment.
Plus, he owns D.C.’s club scene. A true performer, his demanding stage presence, confidence,
and swag define his live performances that set him apart from other artists. In fact, it was this star
quality that caused D.C. hip-hop pioneer, Wale, to take notice. People love his music and so far,
fans from Las Vegas to London have latched onto Fat Trel’s movement.
After an infectious response to his highly acclaimed mixtapes, Noska Muzik (2009) andYoungest Running the City Vol. 1 (2010), his following grew. With the release of No Secretz
(2010) the streets started to further watch and remember his lyrics; singles flood the streets.
April Foolz (2011) Became a Top 8 featured mixtape of Datpiff.com for the most, views and
downloads for the week. Features and productions coming from J. Cole, Dipset’s JR Writer, Lex
Luger, Basshedz and others.
His audience includes elementary school kids to adults in the workplace, from the city to the
suburbs. He’s remained consistent performing at local clubs and venues. His most notable
accomplishment to date is a toss up: being played on Washington D.C. radio stations and
opening up for Wale at live shows.
13 years ago while in 3rd grade he wrote his first rap. His mom noticed his passion and interest
in rappers and told him to write a song about his neighborhood. It was at that moment, at 7 years
old, and after writing 3 verses and a hook, Fat Trel’s grind began. His infamous grind is self
described as, “aggressive and non stop. We take no days off.”
5 years ago, at age 15, he walked out of Largo High School’s doors and never returned, but this
was the same year he met his manager and first inspiration Kari Gold, or P, of the Basshedz.
P helped Fat Trel realize his special talent and once they showcased it to the community, his
audiences felt the same way. His life took a dramatic turn when he got shot. It was at that
moment he realized how soon everything could be taken away in just one moment. Fat Trel is
humbled by his new found success. Fat Trel plans to ink a major record label deal by the close of
the year. Starring on MTV2’s Sucker Free Sunday with DJ Envy and performing live for Fader
Magazine’s Uncapped Live Vitamin Water annual concert tour in Washington D.C., has papers
ready for his signature on the dotted line.
