Fayth Hope

Who is Fayth Hope? Depends on what time of day it is. But to further break it down, SHE IS: a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a friend, a student, a counselor, a poet, a singer, a songwriter, and a lover of music. Hailing from Birmingham, AL, Fayth has been involved in music throughout her entire life. As a woman who is highly introspective in nature, Fayth has used (and continues to use) her life journey & worldview to shape her sound and artistic persona. Her music & vocal style are a combination of soul and spoken word with playful nuances from jazz, hip hop, & alternative genres. This musical culture clash is the result of Fayth's constant exposure to different kinds of music from youth to womanhood.

As a youth, Fayth studied voice in a community music program sponsored by the Birmingham-Southern College Conservatory of Fine and Performing Arts. Devoted to mastering her craft, Fayth spent her high school years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts as a voice major. She continued her musical activities at Clark Atlanta University where she was a member of the Philharmonic Society (the university's concert choir) and Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Inc.

Fayth found her voice as a performer while doing a stint as an event promoter in Augusta, GA's arts scene. The events gradually became a training grounds for experimentation with her voice and other performance elements. She then began performing on the city's open mic circuit and also provided background vocals for various local artists. She even fronted for a blues and rock band at one time. Although Fayth enjoyed working with other artists, she longed for a project of her very own. So she finally decided to pursue a solo career where she could create music on her terms.

On April 3, 2012, Fayth released her debut project, "Out Of Obscurity, Pt. 1: From The Darkness...". It is the first installment of a 2-part series and contains beat-driven tracks that any hip-hop head would gladly bump on their speakers. The single, "Love Didn't Mean A Thing" (which is a taste of what's to come on the second half of the project) made it to #1 on London's Morpheus Soul Show Top 5 Countdown after a 5-week run alongside artists such as Ledisi, Robert Glasper, and Esperanza Spalding. Fayth is currently writing and recording material for "Out Of Obscurity, Pt. 2: ...Into The Light".

Filled with verses inspired by trials, triumphs, & lessons, Fayth's music is like a life soundtrack...life as she's experienced it. To say it as Fayth would, "My music is a menagerie containing my life experiences thus far, both in words and sound. I've kept these treasures locked away for so long. It's time to share it with others."
