Fear Makes Perfect

Fear Makes Perfect

BandRockPop

Rockin' throwback guitar band with killer female vocals that packs punch and attitude and reminds us all of the things we love about Rock N' Roll. Produced by Sylvia Massy Shivy

Biography

In defiance of the burden of inertia, the musicians that once gave us bands like the goth rock/ trip-hop staple Sunshine Blind, the jazzy instrumental groove of Tree o' Frogs, and the full-frontal metal assault of Atomic Circus have come together to present a new, yet oh-so-familiar flavor of Rock entitled FEAR MAKES PERFECT.

Based in San Francisco, FMP combines the powerful voice and presence of vocalist Caroline Blind with the raw energy and melodic hooks of guitarists Charlie K. and Scott Royal to bring us music that is not only fresh and relevant for today's radio audience, but sorely needed on the airwaves.

The songs conjure up memories of the bands we all rocked-out to in our youth, with big screaming guitars and catchy, memorable riffs and harmonies. Combine that with the rock-steady rhythms of bassist Brian Shira and drummer Gregg Ziemba and we're left with a band that not only delivers the punch but reminds us all of the things we love about good Rock N' Roll. Comparisons range from Blondie and Patti Smith to Pat Benatar and Joan Jett.

"Caroline's vocals are powerful,attention-grabbing, and packed full of convincing emotion - something so few singers can pull off"
- Mortal Thoughts

"Powerful...Caroline's vocals are strong and moving, her wide range giving a passion to the lyrics."
- JF, Permission

To make this new project hit the ground running, FMP has signed on to work with producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, System of a Down, Beck) at her RadioStar Studios to record their debut tracks, with a release hopefully in the works within the year. Until then, FMP can be heard performing in Bay Area clubs and festivals, having recently performed at Slim's and DNA Lounge in San Francisco and on various college radio stations, including a live performance on KALX 90.7FM, Berkeley.

Open your eyes

We are the medicated
Or the ones who should be
215 Overturned
Now you can't even waste away in peace

No escaping chemical culture
Advertise on TV
One more study filed away
Now we can't even overdose in peace

How about a vaccine to prevent bureaucracy
How about a cure for the addictive personality

How to stop the paranoia
Caffeine or cocaine
How to start the wheels turning
And save the toxic living on the streets

Teach every woman how to read
Give us birth control and make it free
Wouldn't have so many mouths to feed
A little less gender slavery

How about a vaccine to prevent bureaucracy
How about a cure for the addictive personality

Open your eyes.

SPIRIT

We need to express ourselves

We need to mend ourselves

in socially acceptable ways

We need to protect ourselves

we need to defend ourselves

in socially acceptable ways

There's no saving grace

In saving face

We need to provide for ourselves

Everything that we buy for ourselves

In socially acceptable ways

We need to lower ourselves

We need to whore ourselves

In socially acceptable ways

There's no saving grace

In saving face

Know which pills to take

Know which rules to break

We need to amuse ourselves

We need to abuse ourselves

In socially acceptable ways

There's no saving grace

In saving face

Know which pills to take

Know which rules to break

There's no saving grace

In saving face

You can keep your place

If you're saving face

Know which pills to take

Know which rules to break

Know which pills to take...

TRIP & SLIDE

Today moves faster than I do

And I see myself

Everywhere

It's like I'm someone else

Try to find a sign that can tell me

How to free myself

From this bad dream

It's like I'm someone else

Trip & Slide

Days go by...

Today moves faster than I do

and I see myself

Everywhere

It's like I'm someone else

Try to check my look in the mirror

Can't believe myself

& This bad dream

It's like I'm someone else

Trip & Slide

Days go by

Been down that road

It doesn't ease my love

And it doesn't get any easier

To find my way home

Today moves faster than I do

And I see myself

Everywhere

It's like I'm someone else

Try to find a sign that can tell me

How to free myself

From this bad dream

It's like I'm someone else

Trip & Slide

Days go by

Shade my eyes, but

Days go by

Trip & Slide

Days go by

Shade my eyes, but

Days go by

Been down that road

It doesn't ease my load

and it doesn't get any easier
