Denver transplant, Felicidad Fraser recently received the honor of being named Suggested Artist by the Song of the Year(http://www.songoftheyear.com/ ) songwriting contest. Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners. Song of the Year is excited to recognize Felicidad for her exceptional songwriting ability for the song, Together We Belong. Felicidad competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. When asked what inspired the song, Felicidad commented that "love, unconditional or unrequited, is what life is about". Currently Felicidad is concentrating on her songwriting career while hoping to "acquire a publishing deal and write for other artists". My writing is influenced mainly by great artists like Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt and Luther Vandross. It is inate for me to write exactly what I feel at the time that I feel it, knowing that I've touched deeply those around me. I've managed to find the words that have escaped many in moments lost. With that said, I adhere to no one specific genre, but am adaptable to all.
