Bio
A predominantly self taught performer, Felicity O’Brien discovered her passion and natural ability for music at age 7 and by age 15 her natural flair found her performing regularly in her town and community. Just a few years later she found herself gaining priceless experience busking on the streets of Adelaide every weekend. A songwriter by heart, her songs bravely and honestly share her views of life and provide a brief opportunity for the listener to catch a glimpse into her soul. Her songs reflect such influences as folk, rock, country, soul and blues and combined with her rich and soulful voice she makes a captivating performer. Her style reflects the likes of Sheryl Crow, George, Joni Mitchell, Ani Di France, Indie Arie and Alanis Morrisette.
It is no wonder then that she has gained notoriety from venues that value and support quality original music. These include the famed “Governor Hindmarsh Hotel” and the “Grace Emily Hotel”, two renowned venues in Adelaide that have gladly welcomed her back for subsequent shows.
Some of her more recent musical highlights include; performing live on Channel Seven’s Am Adelaide, opening the night for Lior, a recent tour to Victoria with the highlight being a successful feature performance at Melbourne’s well renowned La Mama Theatre and placing second in Skycity’s soloist competition.
