Bio

Felix Reyes
Guitarist /Songwriter.

Dallas Texas native now living in Chicago.
Started his guitar playing career in Dallas Texas in the early 80’s under the tutelage of Doug Simryl Ex Boz Scaggs Guitarist and Piano Player. That band also included Members of Steve Millers and Van Morrison’s Band.
In the Mid 80’s He founded “The Weebads” With Harp legend Memo Gonzales. They Backed up or shared the stage or opened for many Great Texas Blues Artists.
In the Late 80s early he moved to Atlanta Ga. When He started ‘Felix and The Cats’ That band won many awards and played The Olympics as well as the Libra Ballroom, Royal Peacock and many city functions including B.B. Kings Private Birthday Party in 1995!
After a brief stay in Fla. Felix and his wife Erica moved to Chicago. Today( 2007) he stays busy restoring a home in Oak Park and building his home studio, writing songs. He still plays the occasional gig. Backing up Chicago legends Sam Lay, Eddie “The Chief “Clearwater, Eddie C. Campbell, Hubert Sumlin, Little Arthur Duncan and Dave Herrero! Felix and Dave Herrero are also producing music for the Oprah Winfrey show and independent films.

Felix has shared the stage, backed up or opened for…… B.B King (at least 5 times including the party) Gregg Allman (Played guitar for Gregg 2 nights Medgar Evers Blues Festival. Jackson/Laurel Miss.) Little Joe Blue, Jimmy Vaughan, Zu Zu Bollin, Sam Meyers, Sil Austin, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Bobby “Blue Bland, Latimore, Denise La sale, Clarence Clemmons (Bruce Springsteen band) James Brown, The Black Crows, Jeff Healy Band, John Lee Hooker, Booker T and the M.G.’s , Joe Ely, Lou Ann Barton, Susan Tedeschi, and many many more……

In 2003 Grammy Nominated Singer Susan Tedeschi picks Felix’s song “Wait for Me” as the title track for her 2 C.D. release. That song is also included in the Austin City Limits performance on New West Records/DVD.
