Fell Far Behind

Fell Far Behind

BandRockPunk

HOT OFF WINNING $25K in a radio“FACE OFF” COMPETITION, NEW JERSEY POP PUNKS FELL FAR BEHIND display clean melodic vocals, catchy hooks and fast, technical harmony guitar lines. Fell Far Behind’s songwriting ability and diversity also shine with some slower, more indie-influenced moments.

Biography

With their emotional lyrics and screaming guitar harmonies, this South Jersey five-piece displays high-energy rock with overtones of punk, emo, and metal. Born in 2001, Fell Far Behind has since proved themselves to be one of the most hard-working, ambitious, and talented upcoming bands in New Jersey.

Their existence began with a six song demo recorded at a local studio, followed by a four song EP - Chasing the Dream, recorded at the one and only Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Madball). These self-released recordings, combined with the bands dynamic, and musically crisp, live performances, earned the band a solid fan base and a record deal with NJ indie label - PumpkinEater Records. The Label funded and released Fell Far Behinds first LP entitled The First Annual (Also Recorded at Big Blue Meenie). Overall to date, the band has sold roughly 4000 records through touring and online sales.

Fell Far Behinds stamina has been tested by the vigorous and unforgiving trials of life on the road. They have emerged victorious from several excursions including an east-coast US tour, a full-scale US tour, and several outings consisting of their surrounding states. The band continues to seize every opportunity to perform and will stop at nothing to be heard. Fell Far Behind is proud to have shared the stage with Cartel, The Fight, Valencia, Days Like These, All Time Low, and Bowling for Soup.

Fell Far Behind is currently unsigned. The collapse of their label (financial problems) has only fuelled the band with an even greater drive and determination to be successful. Their most recent achievement was winning $25,000 in the nationwide radio contest – The Garageband.com / Verison Wireless “Face Off”. All of the winnings have been put towards the production and marketing of their newest release “Reaching the Red Line”, due out September 18, 2007.

Fell Far Behind has nothing to lose and has already dropped everything for the sake of their band. Since their formation in 2001, they have demonstrated endless hard work, persistence, and stamina (not to mention great music). Fell Far Behind will continue trudging forward and stretching their limits as they continue to persist in surviving the music world.

Lyrics

Miss Hyde

Written By: Michael Hak

I’ve been here, at this now
An accumulation of arousing emotions
The same back and forth
The same yet different
I suppose

A sensation of spontaneously unrestrained infatuation

Ideal
But inconsistent as well
I’ve become used to
Your change in character
You can’t offer love with a half-held heart

At times exists a mood
An ambiance precise (a precise pretence)
Then true of my own forecast
A transpiration to your most darkened façade

There comes an aggressive tirade of such absolute bewilderment
What are you?

Ideal
But inconsistent as well
I’ve become used to
Your change in character
You can’t offer love
You’re spoiled

It’s a Shame I care so much for you

Ideal
But inconsistent as well
I’ve become used to
Your change in character
You can’t offer love with a half-held heart

Ideal
But inconsistent as well
I’ve become used to
Your change in character
You can’t offer love
You’re spoiled
You can’t offer love
So spoiled

The Antidote

Written By: Michael Hak

So here we stand tonight
The same sight of another weekend plight
I look at you through your eyes
What’s going on in there?
Still, silent demands
I’ll need more then a bland suggestive stance
Warning me to kiss you fast
This time I better make it last (so long)
Cause our kisses cure all cancers (make it last)

Admit that we both know
This is our antidote
Let’s hold on to our hearts
And let our pride go

So dry your eyes my dear
You’d think that I collected tears
Filling up salty seas
With buckets under glassy stares
Recollect old times
Shy nights with butterflies inside
Now lean in like you used to
Tonight I’m gonna make it last (so long)
Cause our kisses cure all cancers (make it last)

Admit that we both know
This is our antidote
Let’s hold on to our hearts
And let our pride go

This is the only way to feel your face
and lay you softly to sleep

We beat out all the rest
We kiss like nobodies business
Our fumes in full regress
We kiss like nobodies business

Old Too Soon Smart too Late

Written By: Michael Hak

Our backs are melting on the blacktop
Can you feel your body waist into the day
As we speak of broken dreams
Tell me, do you recall five young New Jersey hopefuls
Stars over our pupils

Like the boy with his head in the highest cloud
And his feet cemented too far under ground

Take your time dear
I know you will
The pendulum will swing your way
Or so she said

Sweating bullets on the chop block
We could feel the razor’s edge against our side
And our minds as cut and dry
No one trying to change the world
We were only in it to save ourselves
To feel alive

Like the boy with his head in the highest cloud
And his feet cemented too far under ground

Take your sweet time
You’re so great at it
You’ll be ready
So don’t worry
Or so she said.

Take your precious time
Your one of a kind (you know you are)
What we all will become is what we already possess inside

What was your age now?
I beg your pardon
Guess you can worry
You were never ready

She said “get off yourself!”

Cause the grit is what you give
Red stains on fingertips
Cause you follow impulses
Plotting the game
Playing to win
So she said

Close For Comfort

Written By: Michael Hak

After all that, was it worth it?
Well I didn’t think so
You needed space so now I’m fading
Forever I waited

I’m the one you’re looking for
Let go of your selfishness now
Where you are is far away
You’re always so distant when you’re with me

You’ve tried to disguise it
But you never hide it well
Anyway
In another day you’ll have changed your mind for one last time
Again you’ll repeat it
And I’m supposed to believe it
Well, I guess I’m used to that by now
And everything I take from you
And you’re used to
Dishing it out to me

Maybe, I’m not sure
A broken record stuck on those words
Heard again inside my head
But I don’t know the meaning

I’m the one you’re looking for
Let go of your selfishness now
Where you are is far away
You’re always so distant when you’re with me

You’ve tried to disguise it
But you never hide it well
Anyway
In another day you’ll have changed your mind for one last time
Again you’ll repeat it
And I’m supposed to believe it
Well, I guess I’m used to that by now
And everything I take from you
You’re so used to
Dishing it out to me

Chasing the Dream

Written By: Michael Hak

Here we are
Another place in time
We’ve moved up but not enough to satisfy
What can we do
We did all we could for you
Now its our turn

Underground
Undiscovered sound
Show me the way out

Rejection letters in the mail
I tore them all up

Miles behind yet still chasing the dream
Hoping luck will soon come to my aid
Chasing the dream yet still so far away
So far away
Still stuck in this maze

No more pretending in the mirror
No more wishes of being like you
I’ll be myself and maybe I’ll make it there
On my own

Underground
Undiscovered sound
Show me the way out

Rejection letters in the mail
I tore them all up

Miles behind yet still chasing the dream
Hoping luck will soon come to my aid
Chasing the dream yet still so far away
So far away
Still stuck in this maze
And still hoping luck will find me

I need this now more than ever
(can’t grasp whats far too out of reach)
I need ths now so bad
(don’t stop until its within reach)
