Bio

Introduced to music at a young age, Fergus found his first love in the piano-based music of Billy Joel. A few years later, Fergus picked up the guitar and has been primarily associated with it since. Taking inspiration from early blues musicians (Robert Johnson, Skip James, Mississipi John Hurt, Buddy Guy), rock legends (Bob Dylan, Cream, Hendrix, The Beatles, The Stones) and more recent inspirations (Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Derek Trucks), Fergus has a broad-ranging sound that is hard to classify into any one genre. Lyrically, Fergus offers a rare outlook, from story-telling prowess on songs like "Lost Little Boy" to issue-driven solos that harken back to early protest songs of Dylan et al. ("Greenhouse Blues", "I Don't Know (But I've Been Told)"). Fergus also tackles a number of cover songs in his average set, maintaining the structure and integrity of the original while pursuing a drastically different sound in most cases.
