"Feriz Blue, A Rock Band Worthy of Your Ear"

Feriz Blue, the indie band from New York, who recently released their debut album entitled “Showdown”, is an intriguing rock-funk group producing catchy, melodic tunes any fan of rock music will readily eat up. With the dynamically powerful lead vocalist Mike Fries, Feriz Blue is a confident band showcasing a strong, powerful musical voice that is as deeply engaging as it is interesting and exciting. The guitar work throughout Feriz Blue’s music is what really make this band shine, as the guitar crunches in each song are both rooted in rock while also bringing in a playful twinge of a heavy funk overtone. With such a winning arsenal, strong voice and funk-tastic guitar riffs, Feriz Blue is a band that boldly steps outside, and above, your average garage band wannabes.

Bio

Feriz Blue is a rock/funk/alternative band from New York. The band, consisting of emotional and dynamic vocalist Mike Fries (106.1 WBLI Radio Station Long Island Idol Winner 2007), producer-writer Brian Johnston, and bassist Mike Becker began working together and recording their debut album in November 2007, and will release their debut album "Showdown" in May 2008. Within two months of launching their Myspace page, the band had a tremendous response, with over 11,000 plays and 2,600 new fans logged in February and March 2008 alone.
Formed out of the original 5-member band "Stilling the Lake", the group has turned to a more rock-funk oriented sound. The music is complex yet engaging, never sacrificing a great sound for the sake of showing-off. While the lyrics vary, leaning toward deeper psychological ends, and alternatively focusing on more universal themes such as relationships, the vocals manage to come off very versatile, while maintaining a consistent tone that listeners identify as specific to Feriz Blue.
