Bio

Eclectic music seekers have finally come to a halt over the songs and arrangements singer/songwriter Fernando Ramos has been digitally releasing for the past three years. Independent record label nobouncenoplay has just released Fernando's debut CD "seeds". This collection includes several of the tracks that have been available to an increasing fan base since 2003. Recorded at home on a digital 8-track recorder, the songs offer simple audio technology put into the hands of a classically-driven artist currently featured on Garageband.com as No. 1 All-Time Best Keyboards in Indie Rock.

Fernando is proving he can put the literal back into Alternative music, throwing away the conventional use of drums, bass, and guitars for a foundation relying heavily on the piano and a whirlwind of household appliances. Fans have already described his music as "Andrew Lloyd Webber meets Muse...taking orchestral rock to another level...this is obviously a well-trained musician" and "Piano-propelled soul searching on uppers...A bold, expressive attempt to reclaim those old black and white keys for some newer-wave angst." Through introspective lyrics, honest and uninhibited down-to-earth vocals, and an emotional stamina that ranges from the shy to the brutally harsh, Fernando explores such childhood themes as loss of innocence, rites of passage, and sexual discovery.

Featured on the album are fan favorites "cry child cry" and "drama queen". Other highlights include the extremely complex "tick tock" -- half Romantic piano concerto, half tribal goth -- and "change", a humorous epic consisting of four chapters and an epilogue.

A local of the Atlanta music scene, Fernando's interests in songwriting began after a brief hiatus from his "classical" background, coupled with personal conflicts. Since then, he's been busy creating an extensive body of songs that could easily be described as a mythology. His music is intensely influenced by romantic composers. However, he admits that his storytelling style comes from his greatest influence of all: the horror novelist Stephen King. But listeners shouldn't necessarily expect to find horror thrills in his music, only subtle elements intertwined with confessional lyrics.

"...from his swing he fell" (cry child cry) perfectly describes newcomer Fernando Ramos as an artist who accepts no boundaries or limitations and a rebel scholar who defies the typical mainstream boxed-in formulas.
