Bio

With their blistering guitar riffs and urgent, crushing rhythms, FEUD have been mesmerizing audiences and listeners since their formation in 2005.

Originally founded by South African brothers Guy and Greg Combrinck - school friends of Seether’s Shaun Morgan, who was also in a band, Sextent, with Guy - FEUD mesh together hard-rock influences ranging from Foo Fighters, Stone Sour and Stone Temple Pilots to the melodic elements of Crowded House and U2 to produce a cohesive sound that is both heavy-hitting and instantly memorable.

All four band members - the Combrinck brothers along with Ian Harper (guitar) and Tom Syrett (bass) - bring their individual musical tastes to the song writing process, ensuring that FEUD are equally adept at producing tempestuous rock anthems as well as introspective, yet powerfully executed, ballads.

“I wouldn't say that FEUD is our band, as each member has made it how it is”, says vocalist Greg. “Ian brought a new sound to the band and that’s how we started writing songs with a strong grunge influence. Tom came to our first ever gig, really enjoyed it and joined the band. We are all quite different when it comes to our musical tastes, yet working together gives that grunge feel, but something you want to move to as well.”

The band received critical acclaim for their 2007 release, the four-track EP “Out From The Inside”. The release was recorded at Outhouse Studios (Funeral for a Friend, Enter Shikari) and garnered excellent reviews and strong worldwide sales on iTunes including a healthy interest from customers across the UK, Germany and USA. Praise for the release, along with FEUD’s fearless and remarkable live performances, earned the band a place on the 2007 Reading Festival bill as well as appearance on the BBC Three channel.

“…a good set of songs, noose-tight playing and an assured presence. They’ll surely go far.”
- Alex Kingham, Reading Chronicle

A single, “One Last Time”, was released in 2009 and was accompanied by a string of live shows, once again showcasing the band’s knack for combining rich vocals, weighty slabs of rock guitar and pulverising drum beats with outstandingly intricate technical ability and first-rate hooks and choruses.

“We try to engage with our fans as much as possible, getting them involved with our music”, says Guy about FEUD’s live performances, “Basically, we have a great time on stage and that shows”. Adds Greg, “Our sound is like a wall when it hits you!”

The band have played with bands including Bad Manners, Cancer Bats, Young Guns, Anti Vigilante, Jettblack and Days In December and are scheduling more live shows for later in the year.

“We’re not trying to be anything we’re not.”, says guitarist Ian. “We’re just four guys doing what we love to do!”, continues bassist Tom, “We don’t need a gimmick”.

A new album, “Waterdog”, will be released on September 19th 2011.
