Bio

Fever In The Funkhouse features members of The Polyphonic Spree, Edie Brikell & New Bohemians, Tripping Daisy, Mildred and Café Antarsia Ensemble.

Texas rock and alt-country pioneers, Fever is a Dallas institution from the 90s Deep Ellum music scene, formed in 1988 from the suburbs of DeSoto and Waxahachie, just outside of Dallas.

Fever creates post modern country music rock mixed with elements of funk and jazz. Their live performances are dynamic and legendary. They have earned a large cut fan base, numerous awards and a development deal with Polygram/Mercurcy.

In 2009, the group's fan base and local club owners rallied the band back to performing for a New Years Eve concert that proved to be the first concert of many to follow. Their crowds were huge and the performances stood proud to honor Fever's reputation as one of the best live bands in the country!

Original members, Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Nikos Brisco (Café Antarsia Ensemble) and Drummer Bryan Wakeland (The Polyphonic Spree/Tripping Daisy) have resurfaced the core Fever lineup stronger than ever with Lead Guitarist Kenny Withrow (The New Bohemians) and Bassist Dave Prez(Mildred). Fever is further augmented with the addition of Keyboardist Ruth Margraff (C.A.E).

Fever's new record, produced by David Castell (Toadies/Deep Blue Something), is set to be released in early 2011 and supported by an nationwide tour.
