Few Chainz

When you're Few Chainz, a Playstation 4 system, DVD player, speakers loud enough to make your ears bleed, tinted windows, stash box and 23-inch rims are all must-haves for any A-list MC who's not traveling the road by tour bus or limo, sometimes your luxury vehicle has to have a little something extra. While most of today's hip-hop cognoscenti offer their fans a view of life from the back of a Bentley, Few Chainz is mowing down a less-traveled path from the driver's seat of his shiny new Lamborghini.

Few Chainz may not yet have as much juice as the president does around the country, but for hip-hop fans, the west coast heavyweight is the chief that all hail. There is no one else. The west coast rapper is that rare artist whose music and image reverberate beyond his genre without too much effort or consequence from his core, thrusting him into the role of reluctant pop star.

But Few Chainz is a different kind of reluctant pop star. Few Chainz has piqued the buying public's interests not by asking for the masses' acceptance, but by making melodies and rhythms that hypnotize and by telling stories so vividly and effortlessly that they resonate universally.

The mass appeal of Few Chainz is not that much of a mystery. At a time when many MCs are obviously rhyming fairytales, hip-hop fans believe Few Chainz when he spits those vivid life narratives and love him for having the audacity to talk about them.

Add the realism (often delivered in a southern twang) to those beguiling melodies and catch phrases that stay in your head, throw in the humorous punch lines — and you have that rare artist who gets love from both the 'hood and the 'burbs.
