FREJA releases Young Heart, on the 3rd August.
It is the first track to be lifted from her forthcoming debut EP, ‘White Magic
Spells’ on the 9th October, through her own White Magic Records.
Hailing from Copenhagen, and taking inspiration from the likes of
Fleetwood Mac, Prince, and ESG, FREJA recorded the three tracks that form White
Magic Spells EP in Stockholm, alongside producer Calle Ask, and musicians Adam
Olenius and Henrik Jonzon.
Young Heart is a formidable introduction to this 27 year-old Dane. It’s
a gloriously ramshackle slice of leftfield pop, dictated by FREJA’s energy and dominating
vocal. The Scandinavians are no strangers to delivering oblique sunshine-driven
pop, but there’s something very intoxicating and fresh about Young Heart that
demands repeat plays. It’s got a real sense of fun too.
