"Eyes And Ears Review"

Acoustic Magazine review!
Hey everybody have a look at this. My EP has been reviewed in this months edition of Acoustic Magazine, have a read below!

South Wales born singer/songwriter Ffred Jones' debut EP is an impressive introduction; simple, understated but beguiling. Jack Johnson is an influence and there's a nod of Coldplay on the excellent "Silhouettes and Snowfall", but Jones has very much his own sound. Intricate guitar picking decorates Jones' languid voice, and the occasional other instruments, notably glockenspiel on one track, add depth. The simplicity of the arrangements only serves to highlight the quality of the songwriting, with never a jarring moment in the lyrics. The greatest compliment, however, is that the second time I played this EP the songs felt immediately familiar - high praise indeed.

Feed the Fire

South Wales singer songwriter ffred jones is releasing his second EP, ‘Feed the Fire’ on Thursday 25th March at Buffalo Bar, Cardiff.

ffred has looked to explore his Welsh roots through the EP and to combine this with his clean acoustic sound, incorporating vocals from the Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir in the title track ‘Feed the Fire’.

There are a number of musical influences that shine through ffred’s new EP, including Noah And The Whale, Laura Marling, Death Cab For Cutie, Coldplay, John Butler Trio and Jack Johnson.

ffred lives in Newport, having returned to his home-town after completing a music degree in Liverpool. ffred is a full-time guitar teacher, teaching in schools across Newport, and regularly gigs around south Wales, Bristol and London. ffred’s biggest musical influences include Radiohead, Bjork, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson.

The EP will be available to buy from iTunes, with half the profit from all EP sales being donated to Ty Hafan children’s hospice.
