Bio

Kaweh (pronounced Ka-veh) was born in Germany where he spent his first seven years. Growing up in Europe, he was introduced to many types of music in various languages from all over the world. He spent 4 years living in the Middle East, immersing himself in the local culture, hence the Middle Eastern influence in his music.

Kaweh moved to the US as a teenager, and took up guitar. Within months he was composing his first songs. In 1993, he formed a band and within 3 months was opening the show for major musical acts and garnering rave reviews.

In 1998, Kaweh earned his degree in recording arts and began recording his first album. The success of that album drew some of the finest international musicians into the band. Kaweh's rich diverse sound, comes from a mixture of cultures within the group. Latin Jazz, Rumba Flamenca, Brazilian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern are just a few styles one may notice when listening to Kaweh. With the addition of vocals in English, Farsi, Spanish and Italian, Kaweh sets a higher standard in the fusion of styles we’ve come to call World music.

The "Kaweh" ensemble performs internationally at various festivals, corporate and private functions.
