If you ask who is FIA$CO? He is the new voice for West Coast Rap, straight from the streets of South Central Los Angeles. When you listen to FIA$CO, you listen to the REAL deal. He's lived what he writes and writes about what he's lived - and he calls it "Hoodsta Rap". So, sit back and take a listen and let FIA$CO tell you a story but I guarantee you won't be able to sit still for long!

Ernesto Kashan Griffin, otherwise known as FIA$CO, has been rapping since high school. Born in South Central Los Angeles he has known the highs and lows of the streets.

After high school he was destin to go onto college with a full athletic football scholarship to a Division 1 school. However, the school was put on suspension from the NCAA and FIA$CO's dreams were dashed. Not to hold onto the past, he focused on the future. Attempting to survive, FIA$CO did odd jobs; nonetheless, the lure of the streets with the fast money and lifestyle got the better of the young man. Soon he became the "go to" guy for whatever you needed. Hustling was his game, and if you needed it you called his name. However, the desire to play football was still alive in the young man and he applied himself while attending a Junior College. Thus, eventually led to enrolling in the University of Texas San Angelo. While he was there he garnered National All American football honors. After a productive year FIA$CO signed with an agent and was picked up by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent. But, just as fate would have it, with only one week left untill he signed the deal, FIA$CO was injured during a scrimage tearing his ACL in his left knee. Again, not one for regrets, FIA$CO turned his misfortune into an independent fortune and returned to South Central Los Angeles.

Upon his return to L.A. FIA$CO decided to apply himself to his second love besides football - music. He started his own record label, Syndicate Inc. Recordz, and began writing his own music and developed a crew called the "Crimie Gang" and formed a dynamic duo with his cousin SuSPECT. Together they formed the Co-Defendants. Having traveled and toured throughout the Midwest & South a new dream was alive and spreading. FIA$CO has opened for such acts as Lil' Scrappy, The YoungBloodZ, St. Lunatics, DJ Quik, Yo-Yo, Trillville, Trina, and Too Short to name a few. Further, he has played at some of the best venues in the United States. For example, The Rythm Lounge, The Vault, Knitting Factory, The Key Club, Lingerie, The Blue Cafe, The Spotlight, The L.A. Convention Center, The Grand, and The Orange Show Pavillion. With the success of the Co-Defendants, FIA$CO has looked to launch his solo career in an effort to keep his crew, his group, and his label alive. FIA$CO has networked and promoted himself and his label to a level of respect in the industry. He has successfully hustled his music to the streets with a flow he calls "Hoodmercial Music". FIA$CO defines this as hood music with a commercial value. Gangsta Rap used to rule and now it's time for "Hoodsta Rap" to take it's place.
