Fiction blend humour with tunes, ice-cold cool and some sort of zing which hasn’t exactly had a language invented for it yet...really quite a fucking exciting band. - Artrocker
Fiction are four doll-faced boys from London making bright, loose pop songs that are perfect for a sunny day...Live, the four boys of Fiction swap around instrumental duties, constantly dancing between a guitar, a bass and two drum kits...Fiction is a wholly aesthetic vision. - Dazed & Confused
South London quartet Fiction pin a majority of their appeal on their drums, attesting, "they are the heart and soul of the band." Second single 'Big Things' tells a far different story though, its lifeblood being a borderline twee keyboard riff that loops like that of The Cure's much underrated 'Six Different Ways'. It's accompanied by some layered, hushed harmonies, a post-funk bassline and, after some time, those essential drums. But it's the keyboard that you'll wake up singing, and Fiction should embrace that - as well as the fact that they sound more like proto Mystery Jets than ever. - Loud & Quiet
Their warm, loose and bright sound, on the Talking Heads-indebted herky-jerky post-punk of ‘Curiosity’ and the Maccabees-by-way-of-XTC romance of ‘Phyllis’, led to the ladies, (Warpaint) (occasionally breaking into a cheer of ‘I LOVE FICTION’), handpicking them for their album tour...If it’s hard to pin down a definite sound, beyond a touch of Yeasayer here, a snatch of Wild Beasts there, that’s not an accident. - NME

Bio
Described as a "Kraut tropicalia wonderland” by NME, Fiction released their second single “Parakeets” in June on Off Modern Records.
"Big Things" was released in December on Hit Club Recordings (Is Tropical, Wolfgang) and was playlisted on XFM and 6 Music. The band supported Klaxons & Warpaint on their recent tours, and were main support to The Mystery Jets at their Shepherds Bush Empire NME Awards show in February.
Fiction are one of the bands to watch for 2012 - NME Magazine gave them a whole page "Radar - About To Break" feature , and "Big Things" was #3 in Artrockers tracks of the year: “…really quite a fucking exciting band.”
The band have just finished recording their debut album with producer James Ford (SMD / Arctic Monkeys) and Ash Workman (Metronomy), and have recently signed to Moshi Moshi/Co-op.
