Bio

Fiercely Me is a hard rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This 4-piece deftly mixes driving rock with brainy pop to create one of the most original sounds in rock music today. Conceived by Chris Hernandez (vocals and guitar) back in 1994, Fiercely Me has always had a strong sense of purpose. “I started the band because I wanted to play music that I wasn’t hearing on the radio at that time,” Chris states. Chris’s love for smart indie pop adds heart to the band’s songs that hard rock music seems to be missing even today. “I wanted Fiercely Me to write and play everything from heavy rock slabs to shimmery pop songs, and that is what we have been doing ever since.”
Behind the drum kit Chris’s long time cohort Jay Christensen has been making that musical vision possible. Knowing when to pound relentlessly and when to hold back, Jay has been driving the Fiercely Me originals since the beginning. His strong voice also adds much to the band’s vocal driven songs.
Derek Wroblewski (bass and vocals) and Chris Baime (lead guitar) have both made Fiercely Me a much stronger and more complex band. “Derek moves on the bass like no one else that I know,” says Chris, and adds, “he also loves playing more than anyone...and Baime...what can I say other than since he joined the band I can truly call us a HARD rock band!” That sheer joy playing is evident in every live show. Fiercely Me can’t help but move with the music and they aren’t happy until everyone is having a great time.
Fiercely Me released a full-length disc in 2000 entitled “Ecstaseeds” and is currently working on new material for a follow-up disc that might even see the light of day by the end of this year. In the meantime, this band is ready to rock every stage that will have them...and rock them they will.
