Fifi Mondello is a fresh, new voice from a lost age, reminiscent of a bygone era, while rooted firmly in the present day. Her music has been described as jazzy retro pop with a quirky little twist - think a dash of Amy Winehouse, a pinch of Duffy and a sprinkling of Paloma Faith!

Biography

Fifi Mondello is not just your typical singer-songwriter. She is a fresh, new voice from a lost age, reminiscent of a bygone era, while rooted firmly in the present day.

As well as a singer and songwriter, Fifi is a trained dancer and pianist and has acted in many productions, having also studied theatre at university. All these influences are reflected in her music and combine to create a unique, quirky style of music that is unconventional but also, universal.

Fifi grew up listening to her parents’ old 60s records, by artists including The Platters, Elvis, Dusty Springfield, The Supremes, Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald, who continue to influence her musically.

Fifi has spent the past few years writing, recording and performing her music in Perth, where she is based, and has just released her debut record “It’s True”. The 7 track mini-album was mixed by Ian Pritchett (Angus & Julia Stone, The Beautiful Girls) and mastered by Don Bartley.

Fifi’s first two releases from the album, “See, My Love” and the highly popular title track, “It’s True”, received extensive radio play around Australia. “It’s True” was also added to rotation on Sydney’s FBi 94.5FM and many other stations and spent 3 consecutive weeks in the AirIT Great Southern Charts Top 10. Fifi’s mini-album has also just been named in the Top 10 Tip Sheet of recommended albums by PBS 106.7FM in Melbourne. The album is receiving airplay around Australia, including being added to FBi 94.5FM, among other stations.

Decadent, confessional and elemental, Fifi Mondello brings you the soundtrack to a life of music, theatre and dance.
