Fight Brooklyn is a alternative/indie/folk band coming from Houston, TX that officially formed in December of 2008. All three members main instrument is guitar, but in the current line up consists of Jack Hachem playing guitar and singing, John Gottlieb playing drums, and Travis Hughes playing the bass guitar. In the Winter of 2010, Fight Brooklyn got together and recorded five songs for their debut EP - “Scarier than Bears. ” After recording and mixing was complete, the band got together and did a DIY production of 150 CDs. Artwork was created by the band’s family and friends (Jack’s brother Tim Hachem, and good friend of the band Kseniya Nagornova) and Cds were distributed at shows and a few local record stores.
Fight Brooklyn is currently in the process of writing new material and re-writing some songs of the EP for their first full length album, which is currently scheduled to be recorded in July of 2011.
They set themselves apart by providing refreshing lyrics on familiar topics and backing it up with solid songwriting and new takes on classic methods. With decades of musical experience and schooling between the band's three young members, and years of playing together as a band, Fight Brooklyn has no problem delivering a tight live sound that can please nearly any crowd.
Influences include Neutral Milk Hotel, Dr. Manhattan, Hans Zimmer, Radiohead, The Gaslight Anthem, Against Me!, and Streetlight Manifesto.
