Fightero

BandFolkRock

Folky indie rock for the question marks that keep you sleeping in. Syndicated television, magic tricks, hurricanes....they ain't got nothing on us.

Biography

Fightero is a group of five guys who actually get along, and enjoy playing music. We started out in Orlando but have since began the exodus to the promised land, NYC. Our EP is self-recorded and produced, and all additional instrumentation appears courtesy of first-class friendship. Fightero aims for sturdy pop that wont short the listener.

Center Of The Story

Written By: Fightero

You wanna come off like some kind of hero all the time but you are not saving anything.
You wanna be the center of the story but the story is not about anything.
Do you feel as self reliant as you were expecting to be?
Don't tell me about it.
Keep it to yourself.

You look into mirrors. You look into a television set. Watch the same conclusions being drawn.
You could call your friends but they're at such long distances by the time the translation hits the meanings gone.
Do you feel connected from sea to shining sea?
Don't tell me about it.
Keep it to yourself.

You wanna choreograph every move and touch up every photograph that you look less than perfect in.
Between your minds stark perfection of it and your eyes dark refelction there's something missing and you can't bear the difference.
Do you feel you're being lied to about the beauty your dreams promised to you?
Don't tell me about it.
Keep it to yourself.

You can see smiling faces line the streets on the covers of littered magazines.
Everybody's talking into little boxes avoiding eye contact desperately.
Did you declare your independence or is it only the state you live in?
Don't tell me about it.
Keep it to yourself.

Natural Disaster

Written By: Fightero

I want to step on shore in the feet of a total stranger,
I want to swim in the wake of a constant danger.
I want to get tangled up in my coat and luggage,
I'd like to apologize in a foreign language.

Could I keep my whole world chained around my neck?
Am I wearing out the ribbons in the dusty tape decks?
Until the fury and the sound come unchained and unbound I'll be reeling in the distance and whistling through the crowds.

I could be your lonely mountain covered up in warning signs,
Saying "Please don't climb, please don't climb".
If your ropes and pins manage on cracking in,
Watch your footing on the fault-lines they could do you in.

I'm not going anywhere anytime soon,
I've been setting my alarm for the afternoon.
It's a natural disaster the artist has the upperhand over the gentleman of my attention span...

Could I keep my whole world chained around my neck?
Am I wearing out the ribbons in the dusty tape decks?
Until the fury and the sound come unchained and unbound I'll be reeling in the distance and whistling through the crowds.

Powder Black Clouds

Written By: Fightero

Light the fuse
And let 'em loose,
They will explode they will shine
In the seceeded night.

Powder black clouds
The noise is so loud
You can't make out
The figures in disatance
But you wish you could.

Are photographs
Only papertraps
Designed at keeping you hypnotized
By your past

Are memories
Just addiction
Where the next one never feels
As good as the last

You wish you could
Decide between
The mystery and certainty
Between the past and present tenses

Just hope the future makes
Room for a few mistakes
And try to celebrate
Your independence.

Population Boogie

Written By: Fightero

This whole town came up from the ground around 1965,
The development committees masterminds behind the cities built up arguments for staying alive,
They said we'll all need places to go and reasons to stay there,
And we will eventually be everywhere.

I see people waiting on the interstate smoking cigarettes,
People paying rent and phone bills building hospitals and hotels where we'll make more people in,
We'll talk about money and time and ways to spend them better
About science and how it's gonna let us all live forever.

I see crowds and crowds people whispering loud about etiquette and obligation,
I got two receipts from everyplace names I can't remember faces
I think it's time I started staying in,
O, urban center of splendor your convenience delivers everything underneath an electric sun,
Soon we'll be living alone in the middle of everyone.
