"Man That's Hip"

Let's get off the ground with Fighter Pilot. This three piece combo from Los Angeles is doing everything musically and professionally perfect to become a nationally renowned rock band. I first heard them on XM Radio and was impressed with their catchy power pop. I found songs like "Too Much About Me" and "Lost In Hollywood" replaying in my head as the day went on. A true test of a hit song is when you remember the melody or a handful of potent lyrics long after you first hear it. The clarity and directness of their music also has that universal appeal to all rock and roll lover. Generally speaking, it's rough enough for the guys, sweet enough for the gals and cool enough for all. I don't mean to be stereotypical, but I think the music industry really thrives to find bands that can ride that fine balance and still play a cuttine edge, unique sound. That's almost an impossible feat. With consistent airplay around the country on FM, satellite and college radio stations, not to mention our own KLAQ, Fighter Pilot is right on course for the big time. - What's Up El Paso

"Great Stuff!"

Fighter Pilot has something that just sticks, keeps boomeranging back at you. I`ve listened to this album five times in the last few weeks and, well, `it just works`. Jay at PopBangRadio says so very well: " This is a band that reminds me of why I started liking music in the first place; Kick ass, loud, melodic rock n roll! They prove that three chords, harmonies, and crunchy guitars is all you need to make killer music. Hollywood`s Fighter Pilot is a Jimmy Eat World toasted sub topped with Rick Springfield, Enuff Z`nuff, and Foo Fighters. Cliches aside, this band simply rocks, and is very worthy of your rock starved ears. Great stuff!". I`d add that some of the material, additionally, reminds me of mid-90`s Blur(Modern Life Is Rubbish, The Great Escape) as it pulls out those cool, pure pop riff-driven hooks but then it comes right back to these American shores with large dosings of Rick Nielsen/Cheap Trick guitar schred. "Okay, now we`ve reached the part of the review I hate. I really dont like comparing one band to another because everyone (I hope) is really striving for originality. But sometimes the only way to get folks to listen to something new is to reassure them they are about to listen to something they already sorta like. So on that note. These guys really remind me of a mix between the Foo Fighters and Jet. They are a little harder than Jet but not quite as hard as the Foo Fighters. What gives them the Foo Fighter brand is their rock anthemish style of play. T hese guys switch it up nicely from rockers to ballads, to ballads that rock.. his CD comes in at just under 40 minutes, and that`s great. Folks one of the greatest albums of all-time Fleetwood Macs Rumors is only 43 minutes long. Just because CDs can hold much more music doesn`t mean all bands must now make 70min long CD`s. This is a really good CD I recommend it. "-Independent Music Reviews.com. Very, Very Highly Recommended!! - Independent Music Reviews.com

"Emotion, hooks and energy."

The music of Fighter Pilot smokes with emotion, hooks and energy. "Atomic Anthem" is a blistering hot release with chugging melodies and tough vocals. This also features some very cool guitar sounds and nice soloing that is missing from so much of today's rock. To describe the music, think Social Distortion, Foo Fighters and early Collective Soul. This is a straight-on, fun blast of rock and roll. - Whitsbrain.com

"Atomic Anthem review"

Atomic Anthem is the debut album from the still young Fighter Pilot. As a matter of fact, Fighter Pilot is only a little over a year old, but you’d never guess that from listening to the album. The band has received network television placements for their songs, their live show been recommended by LA Weekly, and they were even runner-up in the Billboard Songwriting Contest. Not bad.

Fighter Pilot offers up a catchy batch of melodic rock songs with their debut. A lot of the songs have an acoustic rock feel to them, but they aren’t necessarily acoustic. The band is certainly not afraid of the side of themselves that enjoys a good old-fashioned radio hit. Songs like “A Little Love,” “Perfect Day,” and “Too Much by Me” would fit nicely sandwiched between artists like Sister Hazel and Foo Fighters.

The production here is strong enough that listeners would probably not even know these guys were independent. Although this album is a lot of fun and tremendously upbeat, the album’s last track is probably its highlight. “Lost in Hollywood” is a tremendously sad song, but it’s played in such an upbeat way that you find yourself smiling and bopping your head while singing along. Very strange.

You don’t hear a whole lot of independent artists in this vein, and it’s nice to know that bands like this are out there. Almost anyone of these songs could be a radio hit. - Indie-music.com

Bio

Tired of the current music scene? Looking for something you can sink your teeth into? Then FIGHTER PILOT is the band you’ve been waiting for. Energy-filled, simmering, crackling power pop that’s music to the ears. These are the guys that put the friendly back into radio. Loaded with hits and unforgettable harmonies on top of harmonies, Fighter Pilot is a sonic treat that’s impossible to resist.

Making more sound than any three-piece should, Fighter Pilot consists of David Aaron Freed on lead vocals and bass, Paulo Charbel on guitar and backgrounds, and Kevin Holden on drums and backgrounds. Formed in Hollywood a little over two years ago, Fighter Pilot has generated a buzz throughout the indie power pop circuit. From their radio hit “Too Much About Me” (which recently cracked the Top 100 on Mediabase’s Rock Chart), to song placements on network television(WB's One Tree Hill), to awards (runner-up, Billboard Songwriting Contest), to numerous high-profile festival appearances (International Pop Overthrow, South Park, Texas Rockfest), to their blistering live shows (recently recommended by LA Weekly), Fighter Pilot has hit the music world with authority. As XM Radio described on their exclusive Radar Report program, Fighter Pilot is “… an artist to look for in the future as they’re gaining momentum every day.”

If you’re not a believer yet, listen to their critically acclaimed debut album Atomic Anthem or catch them live – you’ll be glad you did.
