FIGO is one of those bands that combine elements of several genres to flawlessly create their own sound. Sometimes industrial, other times four to the floor rock, they incorporate many influences seemingly into tight cohesive tracks. Sounding a bit like Gravity Kills with unwavering beats and distant vocals, there is an underlying pop aesthetic that gives them that alternative rock edge. Hints of Pink Floyd pop up in the guitar lines while electronics bring it into another dimension entirely. Sharing the stage with artists like The Foo Fighters and Wolfmother, FIGO is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Scandalized equally by experimental electronic and alternative rock music, NYCs FIGO is a five piece group with vocalist and guitarist Parag Bhandari, bassist Paul Daly, programmer Ryan Jones, guitarist Robert Rivadeneira, and drummer Evan Llyton. The band is influenced by an orgy of groups like Primal Scream, Janes Addiction, The Chemical Brothers and The Ramones, fusing intense raw energy with pounding beats and samples. FIGO also doubles as a two-man DJ crew, featuring Bhandari and Daly on the decks who mix an array of original club tracks with house and rock favorites. FIGO has been busy this past year, garnering a strong fan-base through both live and DJ performances at legendary clubs and parties across the country. The band has already crushed performances at venues like Crobar (Chicago) and Bowery Ballroom (NYC) with appearances at Amsterjam Music Festival, Winter Music Conference, CMJ Music Marathon, and South By Southwest. In December 2006, the band charted as Purevolume's #9 top unsigned band. The group has performed alongside artists like She Wants Revenge, The Sounds, Foo Fighters, Wolfmother, Tommie Sunshine, ...Trail Of Dead, Q-Tip, and VHS or BETA. Having recently released a 4 track debut EP, look for a heavy Spring 2007 for FIGO with steady live and DJ dates, original club productions & remixes, and their debut full length album.
