Biography

There is something beautiful about two souls connected through music. For Richie Fike (Fike - as dubbed by his friends) & Dana, it was like a hand in a glove - a match made in heaven. They married in the summer of 1999, and quickly began writing and performing in the band "FaceDown", which gave them the opportunity to tour with Shane & Shane & Robbie Seay, among others. They traveled throughout much of the south, performing concerts and leading worship.

During those years of touring, Fike felt called to pursue a life of local church ministry. God impressed upon his heart the value of the local Church, and the impact he could have on a family of believers through song-writing, leading worship, and developing relationships.

In 2002, the Fikes moved to Colorado Springs to join the ministry of Vanguard Church. It was there that they were inspired to write worship songs for their church, resulting in their first two independent worship CDs, “In & Out of Season” and “The Morning is Come” produced by their partner & contributing musician, Sean Mulholland.

Fike, Dana, & Sean were blessed to attend the GMA's Music in the Rockies 2008 event, where they submitted 4 songs in the amateur songwriting competition among hundreds of other entries. After 2 of Fike's songs made it to the top 25 out of the 384 in their division, they were honored to win first place - the "Song of the Year" award for the song "Ascend to Heaven", which opened the doors to numerous performing opportunities and a trip to the Dove Awards.

In February of 2009, Fike and Dana challenged the boundaries of worship with their latest release “Make A Sound”, which offers a wide range of musical offerings. A few songs are infused with Fike’s long time love of hip-hop, while the song "More Than A Friend" displays some of Dana’s roots in country music. This latest worship release showcases the best of Fike's songwriting, Fike & Dana's captivating vocal performances, and Sean’s brilliant production.

The first single “Ascend to Heaven” (winner of the 2008 “Song of the Year” award at GMA's Music in the Rockies), has been released to CCM radio stations throughout the globe through CRW Platinum Gold Promotions. Fike, Dana, & their band will be performing this amazing song and the other 13 songs from “Make a Sound” at worship events & concerts throughout 2009.

Lyrics

Ascend To Heaven

Written By: Thomas Richardson Fike, Sean Brendan Mulholland

I want to climb
to the peak of the mountain
To the feet of the Father
and see with my eyes

I want to rise
from the death of this valley
From the pain that surrounds me
and stay here a while

You are glorious and victorious
and You’ve welcomed us into Your arms

Heaven and Earth will behold
the Lamb of God whom, foretold
Was sent to save young and old,
Jesus Christ!

The angels sing of Your fame!
Your people worship amazed!
Salvation comes in the name
of Jesus Christ!

I want to bow
with my heart ever-beating
At the sight that I’m seeing,
my Savior alive

So, right here and now,
with this breath that I’m breathing
All praises exceeding
to Jesus the Christ

Ascend to Heaven, my soul!
Breathe in the love of the Lord!
Let go of all of the shame
and the fear of this world

Be known the glory of God!
Behold Him seated above!
And in the light of His face,
begin to worship!

Begin to worship!
Begin to worship!
Begin to worship!

Not Just A Story

Written By: Thomas Richardson Fike, Sean Brendan Mulholland

Every generation, every congregation
Every tribe and nation sing, “Our God is here!”
Every tongue and spirit, let the Father hear it
He is drawing near, let’s sing, “Our God is here!”

And, all of us, with all our hearts,
are standing up to say...

It’s not just a story, He rose from the grave
It’s my testimony, I’m forgiven and saved
It’s not some old fable handed down through the years
My God is willing and able, mighty and stable
He’s alive and He’s here

In the smallest child, in the deepest trial
On the longest mile, we see our God is here
In the midst of mercy, even when we’re hurting
He alone is worthy, yes, our God is here

Broken

Written By: Thomas Richardson Fike, Sean Brendan Mulholland

I am broken
Broken with all my heart
And I’m fallin’
I fall into open arms

The way You love me, Your tender mercy
The way You know me like the back of Your hand
I can’t escape You, and I don’t want to
I want to show You that I understand

You know my weakness, You know my secrets
You are the deepest love I’ve ever known
Lord, You have healed me, You keep revealing
How good it really is to come back home

It’s a spiritual thing and if you don’t know, listen to game
I’m gonna give it to you simple and plain
This is the thing, everybody’s soul is the same,
sin-stained and in need of a change

And there’s one way out of this,
God’s Son came, built the bridge
And I proclaim all of this,
but that don’t make me an evangelist

‘Cause my brokenness has shown me this...
that holding this too tight is just foolishness
So, I hold to this, grow to this, flow in this
and I praise my Lord to this

‘Cause I’m His and He’s mine, we friends
and that’s fine and I’m not ashamed
I live and I die, I give and I cry,
so, come what may

My sin and my strife, my fear in this life,
it’s His to take
I’m His and He’s mine and I live and I die,
but my soul is saved!

Who Is Like The Father

Written By: Thomas Richardson Fike, Sean Brendan Mulholland

Who is like the Father?
There is no other…
He restores His children
Handing out redemption

Who was and is
and is to come…

Who is like the Father?
There is no other…
He delights in mercy,
Healing all the hurting…

He was and is
and is to come…

Holy is the Lord! Holy is the Lord!
Worthy is His name and greatly to be praised!
Holy is the Lord! Holy is the Lord!
Worthy is His name and greatly to be praised!
Holy is the Lord…

Who is like the Father?
There is no other…
He’s calling us His chosen,
mending what’s been broken…

I love You! I want You, God!
I need You more than anything!

I'm Yours

Written By: Thomas Richardson Fike, Sean Brendan Mulholland

I love it when You call my name
I love it when You show Your face
I really love to sing Your praise with my life

I’m different ‘cause You came to save
I’m liberated by Your grace
I’m here to say that Your embrace satisfies

I’m Yours! I’m Yours!
Let it now be known…I am not my own
Sin and death are gone and I’m here to stay

I’m Yours...

I remember when You spoke my name
I remember when You broke my chains
I know I’ll never be the same as before

Your love has come to change my life
You fill me with the love of Christ
I’m here to give my heart, soul, mind to my Lord

I’m Yours...

Beloved

Written By: Thomas Richardson Fike, Sean Brendan Mulholland

These are the days when faith's a feeling
within years of cold belief
when the warmth of Christ's revealing
thaws the frozen underneath

In this flesh and bone and spirit
in this land of broken self
I am longing just to hear Him
hear Him call me from the depths

"Beloved..." (I am my Beloved's and He is mine)

Oh, my long-awaited Savior
come and ransom me from me
shed the shame of all my failures
oh unfathomable King

Here and now I long for freedom
freedom deep and wide to feel
what it's like when you're redeeming
every wound I cannot heal

Let me feel Your presence deeply
like a firm familiar wind
come and cleanse me wih Your healing
come & love me like a friend

Though the wind and waves will shake me
like a stone i will not sway
You have every right to break me
for you never walk away

I'll take you to the Lord, I'll take you to the King
I'll take you to the reason that my broken heart sings
I'll take you to my hopes, I'll take you to my dreams
I'll take you to this world, it ain't always what it seems

I'll take you to the cross, I'll take you to the grave
I'll take you to the stone and let you see it's rolled away
I'll take you to my pain, I'll take you to my peace
I'll take you to my sin and let you see that I'm released

At least I've got a father and a friend, who knows my name
and if I call upon His son, I'm sure enough changed
And if I fall upon my knees, I'm sure enough saved
My broken heart has been redeemed...
by my Beloved
