Filarmonica de Pasargada was formed at 2008 by students of the music graduate course at ECA - University of Sao Paulo (USP). The group won the 17th edition of the competition Programa Nascente, lauched annualy by USP, also the "I Song Festival", at Unicamp, and the 41st National Song Festival (FENAC) with the song "O seu tipo". The band was won others prizes at many festivals such as "FAMPOP", "Botucanto", "MPB Festival" at Tatui Conservatory of Music, and the "Ilha Grande Music Festival", at Rio de Janeiro state. 

In 2011, the group was selected for the full length album recording prize by ProAC (Cultural Action Program), launched by the Sao Paulo Municipality. Thus, it releases its first full length CD, O Habito da Forca, in 2012, produced by Al Siqueira, graphically designed by Guto Lacaz, with participations of Luiz Tatit, N Ozzetti, Cerqueira, Kassin, and Lurdez da Luz, releasing by the label Coaxo do Sapo.

In 2013, they had their name shared with the famous brazilian musician and composer Tom Ze, with who they developed a unreleased EP, called "Tribunal do Feicibuqui". At the same year, they won again the ProAC prize to record their second album, that will be released in 2014, called "Radio lixao".  

Filarmonicas music called "Por um fio" was selected for a compilation of the british magazine SongLines, called "Brasil Music Exchange - New Sounds 2013", that have been distributed inside the magazine, in november/december of 2013.
