Bio

From small town Berthoud, Colorado, a new sound came to being when a band united. Four teens from totally different musical backgrounds began to play together for the love of music, and to create a new sound to “ignite the airwaves”. Filtermist is a four-piece Alternative rock band formed in December 2007. Originally Stephanie Krueger (Vocals) and Casey Brewster (Bass) started out as an acoustic duo, but looking for something more they decided to recruit Erick Tapia (Guitar) and Chris Scott (Drums), to complete the group. Both Scott and Tapia were involved with other bands at the time, but decided to play along anyway. Together they became a cover band for their first show. Soon after, Tapia had written a few originals and Brewster and the rest of the band decided to discard most of their cover songs and play the originals. Tapia’s originals became showcased at the towns Berthoud Days, where the entire town witnessed the transformation. Playing to the whole Berthoud community, Filtermist got exposure to the Larimer county area. After seeing the crowd’s reaction they decided to become a full time band. Ever since that night the band started booking shows anywhere they possibly could. After gathering a small fan base the band decided to record a self titled 8 song EP with Andy Schiller of Atlantis Studios. The band constantly played gigs around Northern and Central Colorado trying to get as much exposure as they possibly could. Eventually a battle of the bands show held in July of 2008 at the Oriental Theater located in Denver Colorado put on by Gorilla Productions had given them mass exposure to the Northern and Central parts of Colorado. With the successful release of their self titled album in Jan '09 Fltermist continues to write new material and play shows wherever they possibly can. {}
