Bio

Filth Dog was formed in 2009 when high school mates Jack Richardson and Matt Ryan (Previously in Wizardsleeve and the band Black Fa**ot which was started by an ex member of 8 foot sativa) first started jamming and writing songs. After trying out numerous drummers, Troy Robertson was recruited and initiated into the band. Jonas Drewling (Happy Violence/ The Jam Sessioners) joined on bass, completing the band and seeing them dive head first into the Auckland Circuit. They then went on to record "The Doghouse Demos", a demo EP of the bands early music, which was recorded with the help of audio engineer and friend of the band Brad Bishara in "The Doghouse" (The factory in Henderson where they live.)

In 2011 Jonas left the band due to pressures and commitments to other bands. This saw the initiation of Brad Bishara into Filth Dog to take over on bass, bringing the band to it's current line up and discovering their new sound.

Filth Dog have since been hitting up bars and clubs all around the greater Auckland region and regularly travel down the line to Te Awamutu where they have a residency in the Commercial Hotel and Bar and have also made it down as far as Dunedin where they played at the Hyde Street Sessions and burnt their fair share of couches. With the addition of manager Paul Nelson (Squeezebox Artist and Event Management) Filth Dog are looking to get on the road and take over New Zealand one town at a time and then taking on the world.
