Biography

Filthy Divine was formed in late 2001 in NE MPLS MN, and a new era of rock was born.
Screaming Guitars, with a powerful Rhythm Section, set the foundation for the soulful and angelic voice of vocalist Viva Long.
Always hard rockin', and a little bit pop, this is a band to see as well as hear, and definitely to enjoy.
Filthy Divine's fan base continues to grow as is evident by the increasing amount of attendance at recent shows, and continued sell-outs of their initial CD " Live at the Fine Line " (c.2003 FD Records), and their newest CD "This is Filthy Divine" (c.2004 on Aquarium Records, a Division of The No Alternative Music Group).
Filthy Divine is an all-original MPLS Hard Rock band with elements of Power Rock, Punk, and Pop, along with a lil' funky edge, making for a high energy, out of your seats kind a show.
Filthy Divine creates a new level of Rock and Roll as this High Energy Power Pop Rock Band brings forth their debut Album, "This is Filthy Divine". Acclaimed by Nel Harrison as " The Greatest New Band in Minneapolis" (City Pages, 2004), Filthy Divine is taking the Rock Scene by Storm. From the Melodic "Ambrosia" to the Heavyness of "Destabilize", from the Rock'n "America" to the Pop Anthem " Lack of Friends", Filthy Divine creates a refreshing new breath of fresh air on the music scene today. Like a Musical Sideshow ,"This is Filthy Divine" will definately take the listener through an enjoyable journey through a carnival of music, leading the way through the sideshow of musical wonder, and landing squarly in the funhouse.

Lack of Friends

Written By: Filthy Divine, LLC

Lack of Friends

Who am I always talking to
A constant turning of the rind
I'm talking to you inside my head and we are having the perfect time

This is us inside my car
What kind of music should I play
I'll be laughing all night with you at the bar

(chorus)

How many strangers can I meet
I tried so many bars this week
I get so drunk - the money I spend
But still no one to call a friend

It's been 3 years of this
I've learned so much but how I miss
Some friends to call at any time
How are you doing? Can I stop by

I moved here from 4 days away
I lost my mind - but now I'm OK
What words to speak, How do I say
Invite me over and lets party!

(chorus)

Each day goes sooo slow
I smile at everyone I know
Do you come here often? What's your sign?
I'm sure your first name will be fine

(chorus)

A conversation with Who?
A constant turning of the rind
I'm talking to me inside my head and I am having the perfect time

(chorus)

America

Written By: Filthy Divine, LLC

America

So this is free

Filled all your life with imagery
Work constantly, to get higher in society
Believe in Pride and Your Country

This is me -----This is me

Work all your life and you are free
No bargain on this glass you see
Frustration builds with such ease
This is no Fairytale to read

This is me I come from America

It lies to you like a child wines
and fills you with uncertain kinds
of words and rhythms of other times

Enchants you with it's dew drip eyes
and feeds you with the salt it cries
and in it's eyes you'll see a swirl
and captured there is a little girl

This is me I come from America

This is me -----This is me
