Bio

The project started with Anton Laplume, the singer, as well as one of the guitar players and songwriters of the group. Heavily influenced by blues and classic rock bands such as, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and many more, he decided to pursue a career in music. He started as an acoustic act, playing original and cover gigs at local restaurants, bars, and clubs in hopes of meeting other musicians to work with and expand on his ideas. He was eventually put in touch with local producer and drummer Brett Segal to record his songs and from there Brett eventually became the drummer for Final Daze. Brett studied music at FIU for a brief period of time and was also the drummer in another local band by the name of Nigh Horizon. Brett's influences are Dave Matthews, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Karnivool, a long with many other bands and definitely shows with his more technical and groove oriented style. Through working with Brett, Anton met the rhythm guitar player of Nigh Horizon, Zach Grehl. Recognizing the talent and similar styles of playing that Zach possessed, Anton linked up with him to work on songs and ideas and it quickly took off from there. Zach currently studies music at Broward College and definitely brings a more colorful and melodic aspect of guitar playing to the table. His influences are John Mayer, Umphreys Mcgee, and various jazz artist such as Pat Metheny, and many more. As Anton, Brett, and Zach continued to play and practice together, bassist Shawn Saul was brought into the picture after Brett met him at a local restaurant. Shawn studies music at UM and has an array of musical influences ranging from classical music to funk, jazz, and blues. Shawn's distinct style of playing a long with his extensive knowledge of music theory adds a lot to the band's approach to jamming and writing, and in turn, has helped in bringing together open ended ideas and unfinished songs. So given the diverse musical background of everyone individually, it collectively produces an interesting take on the everyday norm in rock n roll.
