Bio

Starting in 2010, Rob Bodhi Wolff and Tyger Bailey started entertaining crowds with their arrangements of guitar and Celtic harp, coupled with the harmonic blending of their two voices. As the duet pushed their sound further, and started booking larger venues with louder systems, they kept hitting the limitations of a traditional acoustic Celtic harp when amplified for a strong modern music soundscape.

They designed a new type of instrument specifically for a modern sound an electric, solid-bodied harp with extended bass notes and double outputs, allowing a full electric sound and amplification coupled with the traditional harp intonation and feel. After commissioning the instrument from noted harpmaker David Kortier, their improved, unique modern soundscape re-launched onto the Portland music scene in 2013 to tremendous response!

To provide such a large sound with such a small footprint, and to create this musically rich, fully amplified, and vibrant style, each musician simultaneously plays at least two unique musical roles, while blending vocal harmonies. The guitarist is also the drummer, as a customized cajon foot-percussion kicks the musical experience up a notch, providing the booming bass drum that keeps the crowd moving. With the double-output electric harp, the harpist is also the bassist, as well as the lead player. Both voices join in to provide the strong lead vocals and rich harmonies that Finn Doxie is known for.

Finn Doxie spent 2013 touring the Pacific Northwest from Seattle down to San Francisco, as well as solidifying their presence in their hometown of Portland, Oregon. Finn Doxie presents their own original music at their concerts, as well as the distinctive Finn Doxie spin on artists such as Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Imagine Dragons, The Verve, Coldplay, and The Killers, to overwhelmingly positive response from clubgoers and festival crowds.

The first of a series of original recordings, "Failure to Launch", is now available.
