Bio

Out amongst the vineyards and the famous beaches of the East End of Long Island, New York, you can find a lot more than just racquetball and five star restaurants. Meeting in High School, the four members of Fire For Effect had several bands and had a lot of maturing to do before they decided to get together(for the first time) in the summer of 2004. After writing several hard-hitting and energetic songs, playing one show in Groho’s garage, and after losing their first singer, the band parted ways at the end of the summer. Everyone kept busy, Groho met up with Randy and several other local musicians to form Ebola Sunrise. Brian dabbled in several different jazz and rock projects. And Simon joined the Army. But at the end of the summer of 2005 Simon and Brian decided to jam one day just for old time’s sake. By the time the jam actually happened they had invited Groho over and he brought Randy over to sing since Ebola Sunrise had recently disbanded. A couple new songs were written and the old ones were remembered (kinda), and after much debate over a band name they decided to keep Fire For Effect and to see what happens.
It almost started (or re-started) as a joke, but after writing some new songs and playing a show with In The Company of Heroes in their practice space, Fire For Effect decided to take things a little more seriously. They booked more shows and have built up a continuously growing fan-base in the Long Island Hardcore Scene. In October of 2005 they released their first EP, “Document #71: Nature Planned For Better”.
The band has plans to record a full length album in the near future and will be playing shows all over Long Island and other places. Look Fire For Effect up at www.myspace.com/fireforeffectny.
