Bio

First In Defiance was founded by guitarists Trevor Chiasson, Kevin Ducharme, and drummer Mike Dakins in the summer of 2005. Not having a vocalist or bassists they still managed to have fun and pursue their love for music. As their friendship strengthened so did their riffs and beats. About one year after they formed they were ready to bring in the two missing parts of First In Defiance. Bassist John Pisanti joined the band just 2 weeks after moving to the small town of Sudbury, and it was perfect chemistry off the bat. The tracks for there demo (Fight The Future, Fuck The Past) were now in the works. As the demo was starting to come together they still needed a vocalist to complete the band. Nic McCutcheon then joined to finalize the band just one month before recording the 5 track demo. The pressure was on him to get lyrics down fast and to fit into the now bonded band. The demo was done and it was then time to get there music out there. First In Defiance played several local shows and were starting to get noticed. Vic Theriault saw First In Defiance perform at a local battle of the bands competition, which they did not win, but he saw their potential. Vic then got them a set on a stage at Summerfest. By this time the band was then bonded as one. Nic was able to get the weight off his shoulders and was accepted by the band. First In Defiance’s set at Summerfest was by far their best show they have ever put on. For those 20 minutes they felt like they were the kings of the castle. They got compliments from all ages and were then motivated to continue their passion. After Summerfest they found there selves just playing a handful of shows so they decided to get to work on a 2nd album. First In Defiance took time off from shows and started piecing together their 2nd album (No Hope). Only being 1 track longer then the last it took them almost double the time to get the album finished. They wanted the album to be the best as possible so they took their time and made sure it was exactly what they wanted. First In Defiance at this time was now a 2nd family to all the members. If they weren’t practicing they were always hanging out with each other. After 2 years First In Defiance is now playing shows and is open armed to new opportunities. Currently First In Defiance is working on getting some more out of town shows to get their name out in the world farther.
