Bio

Fish Tank are a three piece math rock band from Kent. The band formed after lead singer Ed Wetenhall and Drummer Joe Jeffcoate met during their freshers week at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2010. The two decided to start a two piece instrumental math band called 'Beerformer' purely as a joke.

They started work on original material and before long the band felt it was necessary to add a bass to their sound. In January 2011, Bass Player Joe Nash joined the band. With the new arrival and Ed taking on lead vocals, the band renamed itself 'Fish Tank' after an independent movie of the same name. The band became more serious about their writing and went from strength to strength.

They stormed the local live scene, gathering a healthy following. It was this success that caught the eyes of local music moguls Max Mitchell and Ben Robinson who became the bands Manager (Max) and Booking Agent (Ben) .The band went straight into the studio to record their self titled demo EP.Once recorded, Fish Tank released their first single "KC;MILR" as a free download through their Facebook page in exchange for email addresses. The single was a huge success, receiving hundreds of downloads and gaining airplay on BBC Introducing.

The band continue to go from strength to strength, playing bigger and better shows being regular support for massive local band 'Tyrannosaurus Alan'.They've also supported Tubelord, Tangled Hair, Cats and Cats and Cats, Delta Sleep, Bareface, Call off the Search, Third Place Victory, Moonjets, Yamaharahara, Floors and Walls, Scholars, S.C.U.M and many others.

The band released their second EP "Henry" as a "pay what you want download" in January 2012 to celebrate they're 1 year anniversary. The EP immediately gained praise and backing from BBC Introducing DJ Jacob Rikard who made a track from the EP "Record of The Week" on his BBC radio show.
