"Fjord - NME Magazine (p.22)"

After releasing their debut EP ‘Where We Lay’ last year, Québec duo Fjord have shared new track ‘Irrational’. Every bit as blissful as their namesake, Thomas Casault and Louis-Étienne Santais’ ambient-pop production crafts a bewitching backbone, matched with their own brand of unique, stirring vocals.

"Listen to Fjord's ambient-pop track 'Blue'"

Franadians (French Canadians incase you didn't catch that) Thomas Casault and Louis-Étienne Santais are making captivating alt-pop and fall well within popular indie electronic trend currently hyped within the music world.

Since their debut EP release in September, Fjord's latest song 'Blue' has maturely blossomed into a ambient lullaby destined to get you day dreaming. Exciting things to come from this duo in the near future. - The 405

"Fjord - Shapes"

There isn’t a more pure-sounding indie-electronic duo out than Fjord, and that isn’t a fact that you can dispute. They’ve effectively captured what it means to refresh with a musical composition two times already, and now with their third, “Shapes”, they’ve firmly established themselves as one the freshest acts out. It’s possible, of course, that their wintry cover arts have had something to do with this, but the super clean vocals and production that the Canadians present are stunning on their own. With “Shapes”, we’re given nothing not to like, nothing to critique, and nothing to wish more for. They’ve everything that they need to have on the effort, and they captivate all too easily as a result. We’re smitten with the work. - Hillydilly

"Fjord - Blue"

This track oozes with mystery – makes you feel like someone is around the corner. The production has some BIG sounds, surrounded by the subtleties of the singer’s soft vocal tone. There aren’t many releases from the this ambient dream-pop duo based out of Quebec, but Blue is a sign of good things to come. - Salacious Sound

"Fjord – Irrational [New Single]"

‘Irrational’ is the stunning new single from French-Canadian dream-pop duo Fjord, and I’m going to go as far as to ay that this may be the best track I’ve heard all week.

Just like their debut release, ‘Irrational’ is driven by an ambient backdrop of twinkling synths, scattered samples and subtle electronic beats, it’s then then polished off with those mesmerizing vocals. - Acid Stag

"August 14 2015 - Hot Top Ten"

The French-Canadian alt pop/electro duo - Thomas Casault and Louis-Étienne Santais - from Quebec who we introduced last December, return with this latest smooth and stylish R & B single, highlighted once more by Casault's falsetto vocal. - Little Indie Blogs

- Voir

- Voir

Bio

Fjord is a Canadian duo formed in the first half of 2014 by long time friends (or brothers…) Thomas Jackson Casault and Louis-Étienne Santais. The project started taking shape with the release of« Where we Lay » (2014/09/09) an entirely self-produced EP recorded in Santais and Casault’s home studio located in the heart of Quebec City. Although having been quite unadvertised, « Where we Lay » was so well received by local press that it attracted the attention of many producers, including Claude Bégin (Karim Ouellet, Alaclair Ensemble, Accrophone, etc.), one of the most renown producer in the eastern part of Canada. After a single meeting together, Casault, Santais and Bégin agreed upon common goals.

The collaboration between those 3 led to the release of a first single « Blue », a track composed by Casault & Santais and co-produced with Begin.  « Blue »  generated so much buzz that it  unexpectedly charted Hypem in the 50 most popular singles during the first month after it’s realease. It has, since, been played more than 1.5 million times through out different platforms such as spotify and Soundcloud. Consequently, Fjord got some attention from the majors labels (Laurie Lee Boutet, A&R at Universal Music). Fjord then released two other singles « Irrational » and « Shapes », which respectively hit the Hypem top 50 charts and have been supported by Spotify. Fjord has also been featured by NME magazine in their « In the Radar » section.
