"At the heart of City's cool tunes"

Grantic City four-piece Flaming Katy will rock your socks off.

They formed when frontman Euan Barr, previously of Glasgow group Manganese, moved to Aberdeen.

He joined forces with North-east artists Sons of the Stage, and Flaming Katy were born.

Their high-energy performances have been setting the local scene aflame ever since. - Evening Express, Aberdeen

Bio

Four-piece rock group from Aberdeen, Scotland.

Achievements so far include:

- recorded and released debut 4 track EP "One way to Waste Weekend"
- produced promotion video to go along with the EP.
- being selected to take part in the T-Break Heats 2007 with the possibility of performing at T in the Park Festival 2007 (picked in the Top 48 bands out 1000+ entries in Scotland.)
- demo chosen as "Unsigned Hero" on BBC Radio Scotlands New Music Show presented by Vic Galloway.
- picked to be part of a local new music compilation CD due to be released later this year in the UK.

Drawing on a diverse range of influences - Queens of the Stone Age, ACDC, Teenage Fanclub, The Band, Neil Young and Weezer – FK have honed their collaborative song-writing skills around a strong focus on melody, harmony, energy and riffing; and although essentially a “guitar rock” band, FK have created their own distinctive sound that is hard to compare to one single band or influence.

A debut demo EP “One Way to Waste a Weekend” (Jan 07) is now in circulation and selling well both at gigs and online via their website. It features 4 'live' recorded songs, plus a video for “Inveigled”, and hopes to capture and represent the vibrancy, energy, precision and musicianship inherent in their blistering live shows.

Formed in late 2005 in Aberdeen, FK have played 30+ gigs in 2006, mainly in Aberdeen, and have supported touring acts such as The Noisettes, I Was A Cub Scout, My Latest Novel, Fortune Drive and The Grim Northern Social.

Acoustic Katy is the illegitimate love child of FK and exposes the mellower, country-folk influenced side of the band. A few instrument swaps results in Euan (piano, vocal), Dave (acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica), Andy (piano accordion) and Duncan (various percussion, vocals).
