Bio

Flash Geezer Band is an ensemble of Detroit’s finest talent. Starting with the heartbeat of our band is drummer Spider Webb. Spider’s music career has taken him around the world, touring and recording for super stars. Spider has a book coming out next year about his life in music. Delbert Nelson, our lead vocalist, has also performed nationally with the likes of the Isley Brothers, George Duke and the Temptations, just to name a few. Delbert sang in the 4-time Grammy award winning movie, “Standing in the Shadows of Motown”. Robert Jones on keyboard and vocal has spent his life as a full time musician. Robert has toured with Dennis Edwards (Temptations), The Contours, Coasters, Little Anthony and the Imperials and so many more bands. His days are spent in recording studios, and most Sunday nights you can see Robert and Spider perform at Bakers Keyboard Lounge, The worlds oldest Jazz club. Treaty Womack has earned the credit of being one of the finest percussionists Detroit has to offer. Like the above, Treaty has toured and played Internationally with, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Barry White, The Isley Brothers, Bootsy Collins, George Clinton and The GAP Band. Treaty also played and sang in the Grammy winning DVD, “Standing in the Shadows of Motown”.

Ray Monette, Lead Guitarist, has also devoted his life to being a professional musician. Ray played with Rare Earth for 33 years and has 3 Gold and 2 Platinum albums to his credit. At age 18, Ray played guitar on his first hit record “Cool Jerk” and spent his days as a studio musician for Motown, Hitsville USA, and all the other studios in Detroit until joining Rare Earth in 1970. Ed Goetz covers the lows with Flash Geezer band on bass, and Bob Yockey is the rhythm guitarist. Ray, Ed and Bob are the reason Flash Geezer Band reformed after 39 years. The three of them started playing together at the young age of 14 and later formed the hit band Electra’s. They played all the top spots in Detroit and Michigan and were one of the first white bands to record with Motown Records. Just three short years ago, Ed and Bob, who have been life long friends, Started playing together again and gave Ray a call to see if he would be interested in joining them. Ray, of course, said yes. So after 39 years of being apart, the sound was so good, they just couldn’t let it be. The rest is now history.
Hotflash: Judy Monette and Becky Yockey who cover our background vocal and sound.
