Heavy music dominated by a melodic singer that will knock your socks off. The absolute pinical of onstage performance.

Biography

Based out of the Niagara region —and leaving their mark everywhere they play— Flatlined is one of Canada’s top unsigned acts. Blending aggressive, melodic riffs with the powerful but evocative voice of Wes Stonos, Flatlined’s explosive performances have earned them a well-deserved reputation for rocking the indie circuit in Canada and the US.

Flatlined burst onto the scene in early 2004 with their debut album “Guilty Of…” which has sold over 1000 copies to date. Since then Flatlined has toured over 200 venues, opening for bands like Out Of Your Mouth, Helix, Mudmen, Quiet Riot, Klear, Dead Celebrity Status, and Skindred! Whether they’re entertaining audiences of 12 or 1200, Flatlined has a habit of stealing the show. “Our live show is dynamite,” says guitarist James Lowman, “you haven’t seen a band until you’ve seen Flatlined live.” Blending elements of bands like A Perfect Circle, Finger Eleven, Tool, and Rage Against the Machine, Flatlined’s sound appeals to a wide audience without losing its distinctive edge.

Without a doubt, 2005 has been the busiest year for Flatlined yet. The band debuted their first music video, “Bliss and Hell” (directed and shot by Oscar Navarro) which was released independently in early 2005. The video has become a hit with Flatlined’s fans, and is being packaged together, along with previously-unseen band interviews and studio footage, with their first LIVE album.

In addition to this DVD/CD release, Flatlined is currently working on their anxiously-awaited sophomore album. In collaboration with producer Dan Preston (Clarknova) the new album will include the smash hits “Drowning”, “Way too Long” and “Just Try,” and is slated for release in August 2005. With Flatlined’s established and enthusiastic fanbase in the Niagara region and rapidly growing popularity in cities like Toronto, Hamilton, Cambridge, London, Northern Ontario, and Buffalo (NY), this album promises to impress —and expand—their growing audiences.

In the meantime, Flatlined will be on an extensive Ontario tour this summer and plans are in the works for a cross-Canada tour in the fall of 2005. But all this activity, including receiving awards from garageband.com and extensive media coverage in Southwestern Ontario, hasn’t slowed the band down a bit. “The last twelve months have been a real success for us,” says lead singer Wes Stonos. “We’ve established a great fanbase and gain more with every show we play. But we’re not about to stop there. . . Flatlined has had a great year but we’re convinced what we’ve done so far is just the beginning. And we’re willing to work our asses off to get where we want to go.”

Best Intentions

Written By: Flatlined

I'm the face you see
you see in the mirror
wishing somehow now
that you had seen quite clearer
memories are gone
never to return
crying all along
as all your pictures
burn

and I see you standing there
standing next to the picture
of what you used to be
all you want to be is free

now that I am gone
there's nothing left to be
hear my story told
through this eulogy
now its too late
to listen and to change
I'd find another way
but this fate has been arranged
best intentions gone
my life has been a waste
regretting what went on
memories erased
internal struggle lost
the numbing overcame
now I can feel, the shame

and I see you standing there
standing next to the picture
of what you used to be
all you want to be is free

now that your gone
everything is wrong
sorry about the pain I've cause and times that I've dragged along
of all the things I've seen
and all the things I've done
crying all along with you as all the pictures
burn

Drowning

Written By: Flatlined

Your home alone again…
You wish this pain would end…

There I go…
There I go…
There I go…

And your alone…
Your alone…
Your alone…

Pre
I Can’t see why you stay in my life…
But I can’t, I can’t see me through your eyes…

I’m sorry I’m not there…
So How do you still care…

I don’t know…
I don’t know…
I don’t know…

Your still alone…
Still alone…
Still alone….

Pre
I Can’t see why you stay in my life…
But I can’t, I can’t see me through your eyes…

CHORUS
Your keeping me right here…
Holding on to faith…
You drowning all your fears/tears…
With dreams of better days….

Pre

CHORUS

Shiver

Written By: Flatlined

Tell me what u really wanna say
When you see me turn and walk away
And now you feel it rise inside
Can you feel it now, can you feel it…

I don’t feel the same…

Does it justify the end?
When all you needed was a friend,
And now its rising up inside,
Can you feel it, now, can you feel it…

Chorus
I don’t mind... when you try to follow and your feeling,
Left behind… let it die

Looking for the one to take your side,
You think everything you say is right… you need it

Still you can not break this chain,
As you try to lay the blame,
And now it’s rising p again,
Can you feel it; oh can you feel it…

Chorus
I don’t mind… when you feel so hollow and you try to follow,
You wanna cry... when this feeling comes up and you wanna,
Let it die… let it die

Difficulty living with these scars,
I wonder if you tried too hard,
The shiver running down your spine,
You know it’s not just in your mind,

And the music plays along,
While your singing this old song,
Of all the things we couldn’t see
And all the things we’ll never be…

Chorus
I don’t mind… when you feel so hollow and you try to follow,
You wanna cry... when this feeling comes up and you wanna,
Let it die… let it die

Bliss & Hell

Written By: Flatlined

Had the chance to make it this time
And I could not believe,
All that you saw in me

I would have left it all… without you

Without your faith in me,
I just could never be,
What I want and live for now…

Chorus
With you here,
I’ve lost the fear
Of bliss and hell, don’t let me down
I see so clear

The chance came back and still you stood by
Fucked it up once again,
Fearing this was the end

I wish id always known… what I know now
This is all that I need,
I see it in all my dreams

But I need to make it real somehow…

Chorus
With you here,
I’ve lost the fear
Of bliss and hell, don’t let me down
I see so clear

Rise or fall
A life so small
I let it out, and broke it down
I faced it all

Now it’s me standing here
Free from all of the fear
And now it’s my time to show
So just go
