Bio

Living and working in Genova Italy Flavia Ferretti begun her musical career by performing in small clubs of Genova and Liguria, an helpful experience to expand her musical horizons; time was then ready to start working on her own material which led her to win the 1999 national award of the "Premio Ciampi" in Livorno thanks to a simple demo with voice and guitar, and allowing her to share the final evening bill with artists such as Max Gazzè, Cristina Donà, La Crus, Daniele Silvestri, Lalli and Ginevra Di Marco among others. Soon after she is opening act for Cristina Donà at BOA GOA and at the same time coperating with musician Paolo Cogorno to the italian transcription of "Blood of Eden" (featured on Cogorno's Rumore di Fondo" CD) by Peter Gabriel and officially authorized from the same Gabriel, thus getting growing attention from music magazines and radio. By 2002 Flavia has already begun to shape her music into a more distintive and electric sound which used to be her trade mark roots, playing the music circuits and theaters in Italy such as "Ciak" in Milano among others, the Festival Ricaldone (Tenco Estate) with Cristina Donà, Perturbazione and great folk group "il Parto delle Nuvole Pesanti", she also joined the national " Primo Maggio 2004" in Genova sharing the bill with Roy Paci and the Aretuska, Vinicio Capossela, Elio e Le storie Tese, Sensasciou, Max Gazzè and Daniele Silvestri. By 2004 the pressure to release CD seemed to deepen and Flavia was ready to dedicate to her first CD which took some time to get finished-also due to the steady and continuos concerts and other projects she was into (one for them is the complete italian traslation of Nick Drake's song she curated with Antonio Vivaldi). The album "Fuoco Veloce" was then realesed in May 2006 and produced from Paolo Cogorno of Maccaja recording label (www.maccaja.it) and features Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi-aka Joe-of La crus, dueting with Flavia in the song "Gira Intorno". Flavia is now actually touring the album in music clubs working at her next album, which has been reported will be more essential and kind of raw. Flavia is actually supported by a bunch of talented musicians which provides a very powerful sound and impressive live impact : Claudio Cinquegrana on electric guitar -who played -among other -with two Deep Purple!, Marco Fuliano on drums, Massimo Solfa on Bass and Paolo Cogorno on guitar and sequencing.
