Bio

Since his debut in 2008, Flavio Renegado seemed to predict that his songs would run the world. Entitled "From Oiapoque to New York," his first CD was released independently, sold over 7000 copies and took Renegado to Cuba, France, England, Spain and Australia, in addition to many Brazilian cities. His new work, “My tribe and the world”, was developed along the road, and was launched on October 19th, 2011.

Produced by Plinio Profeta - who already worked with Lenine, Tiê and O Rappa, and recorded in Rio de Janeiro, the CD has an urban sound and movements influenced by the multiplicity of contemporary sounds. Without being tied to geographical boundaries, Renegado dialogues with Afrobeat music, Caribbean rhythms, textures of American hip hop, the energy of electronic music and the trickery of the samba. A preview of this diversity can be seen in the title track, which is available for free download on the artist page on Facebook along with its video clip, with participation of renowned artists such as Donatinho and Edu Krieger.
As music transforms the life of Flavio Renegado and leads him to circulate throughout Brazil and abroad, also changes those who are touched by it, leaving the certainty that, like it or not, nobody can remain indifferent to his works. Not by chance, in recent years Renegado has played with some of the most original artists of the Brazilian music scene, such as the virtuous guitarist Toninho Horta, star of MPB Lenine, as well as recently acclaimed names of Brazilian music and avant-garde singer Aline Calixto and Fernando Catatau.

If the diversity of partners indicates the restlessness of Flavio Renegado, his extensive work in other areas confirms he is a complete artist. Rapper, composer, musician, poet, actor and community leader, Flavio Renegade left the narrow alleyways of Alto Vera Cruz (poor community in the city of Belo Horizonte) to take the world by storm with his work that takes hip hop from the ghetto and embraces the most diverse influences.

Aware of his ability to creating and moving through different artistic events, he seems to be aware of not belonging to any specific genre, class artistic set, or region. At the same time he absorbs all of them. A paradigm that explains the title of the new CD "My tribe is the world".
