Bio
Born Kehinde Thomas, Flip was nicknamed by family and friends because of his striking resemblance with that of popular comedian Flip Wilson. As an only child, Flip excelled academically and athletically graduating from Bronx High School of Science. On track to attend Boro of Manhattan Community College Flip suffered the great lost of his father. After attending one year, Flip decided to leave school to help his mother.
Juggling various jobs, Flip was also in search of that one thing that would keep him focused and happy. The New York native soon found his calling while accompanying a friend to the recording studio. There Flip was encouraged by his friends to step in front of the Mic and say a few rhymes. In an instant Flip’s spellbinding flow captivated everyone in the studio. It was then that Flip decided to pursue a career as a rap artist. Flip’s focused and matured style of rhyming has garnered him a reputation of being a voice for the voiceless. He attributes this to his musical influences ranging from Tupac Shakur to Bob Marley and The Gap Band.
Today Flip is currently in the studio working with AWGIU Entertainment, an independent management company. The union could not have been more of a perfect fit. With the debut of his upcoming album, entitled “The Flip Side”, Flip is considered as a sensational new artist that is destined to be around for many years to come.
