Bio
Formed in late 2005, the members of Flo met while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. As freshmen, founding members Mike Barnett and Stevo Mann were eager to play, participating in numerous student jam sessions. As a result of the constant jamming, the enthusiastic musicians met fellow freshmen Ian Underwood and upperclassman Andrew Baird. These jam sessions led to collective song writing and a unique chemistry. It became clear to the musicians that they should to form a band. In need of a drummer, Barnett and Mann asked friend and neighbor Scott Sapcariu to jam. With the cementing of the final member, Flo was born. During their first year as a band, Flo played many private parties. After their small-time success, they hit the club scene. Flo has played at numerous Boston area venues, including the Paradise Lounge, All Asia Café, The Cantab Lounge, and Copperfield's. Earlier this year, Flo performed at festivities for a meeting between California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chinese diplomats.
While on summer recess from school in 2007, drummer Scott Sapcariu left the band to pursue other interests. Flo carried on, adding Charlie Van Kirk on drums. With this new addition, their musical blend of rock, jazz, and funk has grown even stronger. The members of Flo are currently continuing their education at Berklee College of Music, where they strive to bring their music mastery to a new level.
Heavily influenced by jazz, funk, and jam bands, Flo is guaranteed to make you groove.
