Flood City Brass

Even though some of the members of the Flood City Brass made their living as professional musicians in the past, each one will tell you that "Music and entertaining audiences is my life. My job is what I do to support my family, and feed my insatiable habit of being a musical entertainer."

The "Flood City Brass" was voted "Simply The Best" Band by the readers of the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat.

Tom "Hoaky" Pavic, Lead Vocalist: - Tom is a phenomenal vocalist and front man who will bring excitement to your party or event. His extensive experience as an entertainer is clearly evident in his performances. Tom can sing, swing, and scream; performing songs ranging from Van Morrison, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, KC and the Sunshine band, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Tom's day job: Retired steel fabricator.

Natalie Kurchak, Lead Vocalist: - Natalie adds a dimension to the band by leading up the female vocals. She has an incredible vocal style capable of singing soulful songs of Aretha Franklin and Etta James to the gentle songs of Judy Garland . Natalie is also involved in the Band of Brothers Shakespeare Company,
Natalie's day job: Marketing manager.

Luis Gonzalez III, Keyboards: - Luis can play a wide variety of styles. Luis has previously played with Ted Carter.
Luis' day job: Pharmacist.

Randy Rutherford, Lead Guitar, Sax and Trombone: - Randy is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music and is a master guitar player from Altoona, PA. He is a well rounded player and enjoys playing many different styles of music.
Randy's day job: Commercial electrician.

Andy Heinze, Bass: - Andy has played in many local bands such as Third Standard, Ole 97, and Somerhill. While in high school, he playedin the jazz bands and orchestra. Andy also currently plays upright bass with the Laurel Strings Orchestra.
Andy's day job: Geologist.

John Homerski, Jr., Drums and Vocals: - . He is a graduate of the US Armed Forces School of Music and a 9 year veteran of the US Army Bands. As a professional musician, for most of the past 40 years John has led and performed in many popular groups, and has shared the stage with such notables as Manhattan Transfer, Lou Christie, Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners, and Little Anthony.
John's day job: IT Analyst.

Dan Perich, Lead Trumpet/Flugelhorn and Vocals: - Dan is a trumpet player and singer. He is a Deacon in his Church, and is also the band leader and trumpet player of the Swing City Band. .
Dan's day job: Carpenter.

Jen Shuty, Sax/Flute: - Jen is a music major from Indiana University of PA with a BA and MA degrees. Jen plays alto, tenor, and soprano Yamaha custom saxophones.
Jen's day job: Music educator.

Jim Bilitski, Trombone/Sax/Guitar: - Jim is the band leader and arranger for Flood City Brass.
Jim's day job: Professor of Computer Science.
