Bio

Floodline has been from the beginning, and still is today, just a couple of guys making good music. It started in the Fall of 2003 when Daniel Hall and Jared Crabb hooked up through mutual friends to get a band together. Along with a couple of other players, they jammed often at a place on Spokane’s South Hill, all the while recording their progress on a laptop. They made some kill tunes, and met some cool people, but things didn’t go well after an altercation between members. The band broke up before they ever had a name, and what was left was Dan and Jared writing out songs, molding their sound, and looking for other players to jam with. They only wrote rough cuts of songs and ideas with the intention of finding other players to fill in the gaps, like vocals and live drums. For the next year and a half, our two friends auditioned singers and drummers alike. Although some of the guys fit the bill well, the sound just wasn’t what they were going for. So After over a year of frustration they decided to try their hand at just doing it themselves. Dan began singing the melody and harmony parts, and Jared supplied the throat vocals, and it seemed to work pretty well. After testing some of the track out, it seemed that it was going to be a two-man band for the first album. But first, they had to come up with some lyrics. After writing out some ideas, it became clear that the overall message was gong to take a more positive light than the usual death and destruction theme. Still a bit angst filled, the general conflict outlined in the themes seemed to resolve themselves within the song and toward the end of the tracks. So became the Floodline sound, and from then on it’s been a continuous music writing process from beginning to end, so far producing their first debut album “Passage To Dawn”.
