Bio

It's an adjective used to describe a person or event. Someone who is acting cheap, arrogant, self-centered, superior to others, snobbish, or as a jerk, they are a Floog.

Perhaps, the most common stereotype of a rock band??

But in reality, FLOOG is an awesome combination of Reggae, Folk, Rock and Pop. They are a band that prides themselves on the perfect balance of entertainment and musicianship. Their high-energy live performances include almost no down time between songs. Not only that, but their interactions with the crowd are sure to get people dancing and singing along in no time. This is a band which truly appreciates the fans, and it shows. An amazing core following has really done them well, as they have played packed shows at Sly Fox in Wheatland, Mickey Finns in Libertyville and the Brat Stop in Kenosha as well as many other venues, and they have established a good working relationship with all of these places. Their Summer 2010 included a number of performances at venues and festivals from Chicago to Milwaukee, and many places in between. One of these included a spot as a supporting act for Sublime w/ Rome, Matisyahu, and The Dirty Heads for their performance at The Rave.

Lead singer and guitarist Jeff Pfleuger is the main songwriter of the group. He is known for his catchy wordplay, as well as his sometimes dark and haunting lyrics. He also sets the overall high-energy tone of the band. The rhythm section consists of Kevin Welker (Drums) and Jerome Johnson (Bass). The combination of Welker's creativity and controlled fury on drums, along with Johnson's funky yet melodic basslines provide the perfect foundation for lead guitarist and music guru, Jim Walski. Jim knows exactly when to get the crowd reeling with a blistering solo, or when to slow things down, blending notes together in a way which you simply have to hear for yourself.

Upon attending one festival, Kenosha News had this to say :

"... 62nd annual festival on Saturday, July 11... Entertainment included the band Floog. They had the festival dancing the night away! Floog is an original and cover band from Kenosha county. They have rock, reggae, and folk influences..."-Kenosha News
