"Floor Thirteen - Mmmm!"

You’ve probably seen Jeremy Coz before. He was one of the top 20 contestants on Canadian Idol in 2006 and one of the top 30 contenders on Rock Star: INXS in 2005. Now, Coz has seemed to settle into his proper niche: as the frontman for Floor Thirteen, with Marc Jaworski on guitar, Aaron Vandall on bass and Billy Kiely on drums. The band’s debut album , Mmmm!, was released on July 15th and the critics are impressed.

The band has already been compared to rock styling to Jet, Wolfmother, and Airbourne. Rock influences are definitely present in Coz’s vocals, which sounds like a melange of elements drawn from and inspired by other well-known frontmen. His raspier screeches call to mind AC/DC’s Brian Johnson and there are touches of The Offspring’s Dexter Holland. Chris Cornell is definitely channelled to some degree.

Coz and the rest of Floor Thirteen throw back to classic rock with this album, from the guitar solos to the let’s-all-sing-together-now chanting choruses. The songs are lyrically simple, catchy, and full of energy. The band demonstrates a great rapport with one another; they play very well together, which something you can just sense while listening to this album. Mmmm! is twelve consistently strong tracks that smoothly exhibits the promise and talent of this band.

Floor Thirteen has already lent their songs to film and advertisements to increase their exposure. “Bright Lights Rockin’ City” was featured in the 2007 Canadian horror film Grizzly Rage, while “Night Train” was licensed by Mazda for their online game, Campus Joyride.

With no fuss and no pretence, Floor Thirteen knows what straight and clear rock n’ roll is all about.

Floor Thirteen Biography

Floor Thirteen is Jeremy Koz, Marc Jaworski, Aaron Vandall and Billy Kiely. There were a few forms of Floor Thirteen kicking around in the late 90's but it wasn't until Marc and Billy met Aaron in high school that things started to take shape. There was no doubt karma exists! Playing sold out venues, school parties and local pubs they had all the glory of a young rock band.

There has been a hand full of troubadours come and go but it wasn't until karma reared its mighty hand for the second time that the band was introduced to Jeremy Koz in 2003. He brought the band to a new high and completed the Floor Thirteen sound that you hear today.

With dynamic front-man Koz, Marc with his shredding and searing solos, Aaron's hard-edged groove and Billy's pounding four-on-the floor back beats, this band is bringing back rock n' roll the way it should be played and heard.

Floor Thirteen has been influenced by numerous bands of yesterday and today. Their sound has been quoted to be reminiscent of AC/DC, Jet, Wolfmother and Led Zeppelin.

In today's market, certain buzz phrases are over-used and under-valued. You may have heard the following buzzwords a hundred times: powerhouse vocals, original, superior musicianship, great hooks, energetic live performances. With so much hype and so little substance, how do you convey the real deal? Its simple. You state the facts and let the music speak for itself.

In Hollywood, celebrated rock guitarists Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke, hosts of the popular reality show, Rock Star INXS, auditioned 10,000 singers for a coveted spot on the show. Once again, Floor Thirteens Koz landed in the top 30 out of 10,000.
